For some reason when I log in and go to first page I get a pop up http://a.tribalfusion.com ( don't click on the link ) which i don't really need. I have all the usual security devices etc ( Norton ) . How can we get rid of these? I don't need this c***.

Edit : Just tried it again. Got the pop up even before I logged in!!
 
i believe pop-ups are something inherent to your computer and the cookies, note necessarily something that's coming through GTP.

Try clearing your cookies and/or the internet temporary files and see if you get the same thing. If you do, try running ad-aware or some other program... and in the end, disable pop-ups.
 
The Main page of GTPlanet.net has always had Pop-ups. GTPremium eliminates the ads from the forums, but not from the main site.

If you're asking why it comes up as a 404 error, the ad system could be having issues, or in the midst of having ads cycled.
 
Der Alta is correct, the main site does have pop-up ads - there is nothing wrong with your computer. Once you're logged into your account, you've got the option of disabling them (My GTPlanet > Edit Options). Of course, to remove all the ads on the site you can upgrade to GTPremium.
 
If you have Firefox use the Adblock Plus add on and it gets rid of all ads. It decreases loading times no ends.
