What is going on with the 2nd gear not engaging right away? High revs, maybe slight loss of traction on 1st gear. One changes to 2nd and it just stalls for few seconds before engaging the 2nd gear. Using manual, paddles and no tc.

What the heck is going on? Is it the same with clutch and stick?

Change to customizable transmission and all gears just bang in.

It describes a miss while looking your phone. Like IRL. Like a real driving simulator.

Sorry... I have wondered same thing in race B.

Yeah you know it like in the 1st 10 secs of driving it. Must be a bug. May as well just use custom gearbox on every car.

I noticed 1-2 gear changes lag considerably if you have some slip. Not sure why. First noticed it on the McLaren F1. 1st gear not even worth using in that car.

No problems here with my shifter and clutch. The 997 is a blast to drive with 3 pedals!
If I’m not mistaken, the lag is switching gears with paddles on manual cars is because of wheel spin. It won’t engage the gear till the tyres regain traction. Happens with a few other powerful manual cars, I think. Maybe you can try letting off the gas a bit between 1st and 2nd gear, like you would in a proper 3-pedal manual.

Up shift with clutch and h shifter, downshift with paddles, just remember to also downshift the h shifter after the paddle downshift

The automatic clutch on standard H pattern road cars is very slow, it sucks.

However, I second the love for the 997, what a great drive on the game! Ace car.

I just avoid first gear and feed the throttle early before the apex in 2nd gear so that it revs up high enough by the time I exit. I'm a slow driver though, so this might be horrible advice.

You could use the clutch pedal and the paddles for upshifts. Same as a few other cars with standard gearboxes, like the E30.

Doesn't work if you don't have an h-shifter plugged in, even if your pedal set is a 3-pedal one. The clutch pedal is disabled in this case. I have the T300RS with the T3PA, but no shifter.

Don't go below 2nd.
First gear is just to get the car moving in these things..
Same as irl. Even shifting at 8.5k rpm, it'll still take a second to catch.
;)
