Porsche 919 - tips to keep the battery charged.

Evening all, I’ve been driving the 919 in the Daily Race at Interlagos, in qualifying I can keep the battery charged all way round the lap no problem but in the race come the end of lap 1 it’s gone and doesn’t want to come back lol

any tips. - i use a joypad - I brake early to trigger the regen but the power is gone just as fast whereas in qualifying deployment seemed slower and regen faster.

any thoughts be greatly appreciated
 
Apply only enough throttle to maintain the speed you want. The KERS recharges in two ways. One is by regenerative braking and two is with turbines in the exhaust, downstream of the turbo. With the throttle at max, all of the energy produced by the turbines is going straight to the front wheels. If you let up, the car goes to rear wheel drive only and the KERS battery will charge slowly.
