Sorry if this has been asked several times already, but why doesn't Gran Turismo feature Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc? Licensing issues? Then how did they get everyone else? And how did every other driving game get those companies?
If you suspected that it had been asked several times before, then why didn't you do a search to make sure?
Skimming through this thread should give you all of the answers you could possibly need, but here are some quick responses to the questions you've asked here, in order:
1. They don't have the licensing.
2. Yes.
3. They got the licensing.
4. Long-term contracts with other videogame developers, contract terms not able to be met (for example, Ferrari doesn't like the idea of their cars racing side-by-side with Civics and such. You can see how this would pose a problem in GT), other factors that may very likely be out of Polyphony Digital's control, etc....
