Has anybody seen the Porsche banner on Circuit de la Sarthe? I just was on that track and it's been changed. It's after the last hard right hand turn before the straight away on the back side. It's over the track.

Yes, I saw it.

It seems odd that they would have it up there and not the cars. I know about the EA thing. Wouldn't they have to pay for the rights to use the name? I know it is probably from the real track and they forgot to take it out :odd: Or did they do it on purpose? :odd: Maybe a hidden meaning? 💡 of things to come :D Just a thought.

I'm with @GranTurismo916 on this, PD probably built the track how it was without any other reason behind it. If they wanted to change it, they probably could have, but any work they do not need to do is probably the route they will take because it would be cheaper.

In what way has it changed? I don't think I caught anything changing in v1.15 or the Christmas hotfix.

There's been a couple of Porsche banners on La Sarthe 2013 since the game was launched - Porsche did, after all, drape the main stands at the 2013 event with "2014: The Return" banners, to advertise their return to LMP1 in 2014, which are replicated in the game.

They now say Gran Turismo 6 and I have a photo from today to prove it. Just thought it was weird that they changed it

Still there on my 2013 Sarthe

Read the copyright text that appears when the game is loading. To paraphrase, it says something like some companies are mentioned in order to make the environments realistic and it does not imply sponsorship.

I take that to mean that if a banner appears at the side of a track, ie Porsche, then PD can use it if they want to make the track more real.

That's very strange to me, daan... Because PD says that Porsche cars cannot be included because of EA's contract...

I'm happy with the Circuit de la Sarthe for being realistic in 2013, but for other side, the Porsche banner reminds me of PD being eager to bring Porsches to GT...

I'm going to state the obvious here and say that cars are not banners.

PD try to make the track surround as realistic as they can, and if that means recreating a banner that is actually there on real life, then they can do that, irrespective of who or what that banner is for. Obviously they leave out the forza ones...

Look at all the shops at the side of the London track. Did PD ask each and every one of them if they wanted to be in GT6?

No, the PD didn't ask people if Shops at the side of London side wanted to be in GT6.

Captain Obvious to the rescue!

They haven't. The banner after Ascari is still there and all the relevant stands on the pit straight are still bedecked with Porsche "Home is where the heart is" banners.

Are you sure you're looking at the right version of Circuit de la Sarthe? These signs are only on the 2013 track, because they were there in 2013, not the 2009 or 2005 versions.

Slightly off topic, but that's the RUF Yellowbird in that pic, right? Is that a custom bumper or is that standard?

It's the BTR, not the Yellowbird. And yes, it's the standard bumper. The car is a standard model (all RUF's are, unfortunately), so you can't modify the bodywork.

EDIT: ONevermind's post didn't show-up before I posted myself. Sorry.

Hey Thanks for all the info 👍 and it was one with no chicanes in single player time trail, so that's probably why it was different. :dopey: Is there a thread about RUF cars? I really liked them since GT3 or 4 or whenever they came out, I can't remember :boggled:  Team Shmo has a great Drift Tune for a RUF BTR :) I used it to get gold at the Silverstone Drift Seasonal
