We kicked a 1970 911s ass on the motorway using our F-reg Cavalier 1.6L after getting stuck in a jam because of a crash and we were badly late. My dad floored the throttle from the queue and we had our foot down the rest of the way.
We passed the Porsche entering a bend flat out at over 90mph drifted gently past and my dad just didn't lift.
The Porsche gave chase but neither the tyres or the driver were up to going fast and every time he tried flooring it it just slid wide or spun up.
He was passing us every straight doing about 120-125mph but each corner we took flat at over 100 lurching violently.
We supposedly hit 118mph according to the speedo, which is probably close to correct because the previous owner had fitted 16" alloys so the speedo would underestimate but speedos are normally over optomistic.
The steering wheel would shake like mad because the car was never designed to do that kind of speed.
Soon he was totally out of our mirrors after a series of bends in quick succesion after the 911 tried taking it at over 100 an ran onto the hard shoulder.
We had won!
