Guys, I'm a bit confused between all GT3 available Porsche cars in AC.
911 GT3 R 2016
911 GT3 Cup 2017
911 GT3 RSR 2017
Can anyone explain to me please, in simple terms, what are the differences between all those 3 cars? Which is used for what? When should I use which? Which is the fastest, if any?
Thx!

OK will try because it is a bit confusing, mainly because they race in GT3 and have a road car called a GT3.

The 911 GT3 R 2016 is a GT3 category race car.

The 911 GT3 Cup 2017 is a single make race car based on the GT3 road car and not a GT3 class race car

The 911 GT3 RSR 2017 is a GTE category race car, but differs quite a bit from the 2016 car in that its not RR, but mid-engined.

In terms of outright pace I would say:

RSR 2017 > R 2016 > Cup 2017

However the two GT3/GTE race spec cars (RSR 2017 and R 2016) should be roughly similar as they race under similar regulations, and should be put against any other GT3/GTE machines. However your best bet for the Cup car is to race it in a single make series, as that's what its designed for.

Thanks guys for your clarifications.
So if a race is a GT3 class only race, which of the three can join the series?

I hated the naming of these. I had always assumed GT3 meant GT3 race spec series.

Yes, Porsche including GT3 in the model name of the vanilla car creates some confusion, but once you understand that it's fairly easy to keep them straight.
