:scared:
My wheel is new and got everything set up, my cockpit has been waiting a long time for my new Porsche 911 turbo s wheel.
Am truly gutted though because the gears are all messed up.
As follows
So disappointed:indiff:
1st=3rd
2nd=2nd
3rd=5th
4th=4th
6th=6th
No reverse gear ingame?
This is quite obviously a faulty gear shifter, but just in case i've missed something, has any one experienced this? Is there a fix for this or a setting i've missed?

It's like this with both Forza 3 & GT5p.

You can reconfigure/ calibrate the shifter.
Look at the manual at fanatecs site

On my PWT (911 Turbo) calibration is activated by pressing and holding the "tuning"-button (by the LED display) and the START button (the button that is START in PS mode). Now the LED will read "G_r". Put the shifter in reverse and press START. The display will now read "G_1". Put the shifter in 1st and press START. Continue until every gear has been calibrated.

Thanks for these replies.
I have found the PDF manual download from the Fanatec website, and calibrated the gears. Panic over:dopey:
It wasn't in the instructions in the box so I thought it would all work straight away.
Realy enjoying Forza 3 with manual clutch using G25 pedals.

LOL I thought the same I remember, The whole need to download various manuals was pain really especially as I don't have a printer.

In my opinion download of drivers and manuals instead of bundled discs and hardcopies is a great idea. Usually I toss the bundled stuff and download updated versions of the drivers anyway. And if I kept the manuals they would always disappear on me anyhow. :confused: If I need to consult a manual I always go to the manufactures site and download a copy that I can read, search and delete after usage. To my mind this is easier, and far more environmentally friendly.

My gear shifter problem has worsened:nervous:
I tried the sequential gear shifter for a while, then changed it back to the 6-speed shifter. The gear shifter is not recognized AT ALL now by FM3 or GT5p. I have recalibrated the shifter and still it does not work. Have checked that PS2 cables are working. ie. the gear cable works with the pedals.
I'm really stumped:sick:
Do I need to contact Fanatec for repair/replacement.?

With GT5p you need to push the triangle button at the start of every race to us the shifter. And with Forza, don't turn the xbox on with the wheels xbox button. If you do turn it on with the wheels button, turn the wheel off, and then back on once the 360 is running. At least I think that's how it works for forza. I haven't played it in awhile, but I know there's a little trick with the fanatec wheel you have to do.

I have been persistant in trying to get it working again. Over 12 hours trying every concievable combination of powering on, calibrating, switching cables, etc..etc...without any luck.:confused: I followed all the manual instructions accurately but it never worked.
HOWEVER, just this moment as if by magic it is actualy working again. Playing FM3. :)
My worry now is that I can never change the shifter to the sequential one for when I'm in a rally car, as I don't trust that changing it back again to 7GS will go smoothly:scared:
I'll just have to use the paddle shifters instead, but I like to use the correct gear method for each car that i'm driving.

Sounds bad. Must be really frustrating :sick:

I know I felt that way when my new G25 shifter wouldn't work on GT HD - sickening! And then the G25 paddles wouldn't work on GT5P so I knew the actual parts were OK and then found they both work fine in NFS-Shift.

You can't just accept that you can only use the paddles - that's crazy! :crazy:

Hope that you can get this sorted soon if it really doesn't work after all you've tried, I would ask for help from Fanatec 👍

Just plugged in my shifter for the first time (on my lunch break) and was wondering why it wasn't working. I had no idea I needed to calibrate it. I will be doing this as soon as I get home from work. 👍

BTW my wheel as been working opposite as far as the process of turning the console on first or with the wheel. The only way for me to get 900* of rotaion is to use the xbox button on the wheel to turn on the console.
