This RUF CTR2 has a striking resemblance to a Porsche 993. But it sure looks good. :)

Technically, that is a Porsche.  But, it's been heavily modified by a separate company called RUF.

Thankfully they do modify the car enough to be considered a manufacturer in their own right, and can license the cars to Sony, giving us access to Porsches in the game in a round-about way.  :D

Yep, exactly.  I'd much rather have them than Porsche.

Besides, didn't Electronic Arts buy the right to the Porsche name like they did with the CLK - GTR? I'd rather have a RUF than a Porsche anyday.

Yes, I think that's right.  I believe EA is also the only thing standing between Polyphony and Ferrari and Lamborghini.

I hate Electronic Arts now. And to think I have all their Need for Speed games. It would be great to see Sony buy them out but it'll never happen.

No, that won't happen, unfortunately.  They're just too competitive with their other sports games.

Well, as soon as the company's contracts run out, I'd say Sony will be offering a much bigger check than EA.  :D

Oh yeah, for sure. They are huge but the games get real old real fast. Only a week after getting NFS: high stakes, I sold it to my friend.

Quote: from Evolution Racer on 7:29 pm on July 2, 2001[br]you do know EA is the biggest game software company?
So they have a lot of cash. But their games suck compared to Sony games.
Yeah, they're the biggest, but they're not the best, and they don't have anything nearly as successful as the GT series.  And, you also have to consider what a large/established company Sony is - they're into nearly every form of electronics around the world, while EA only makes video games.

Yeah that's true. I got a sony TV, VCR, and Stereo, Plus a sony Playstation (:D no kidding) EA's games are good sellers but the GT series totally woops all of EA's games.

Yeah, the NFS series is fun, but it just doesn't have much replay value.

LOL. All of your capping on EA. Acclaim has the license to Ferrari, not EA. Lamborghini license just costs too much. Porsche is owned by EA. But neways RUF is great (On Porsches place I would purchase RUF, and make it Porsches Racing Devision. Hey PRD!).

Well, EA definitely held the license at one time because there are several Ferrari's in the Need for Speed series.

Not anymore, Acclaim picked up the license for Ferrari in 2000. THe last Ferrari in a NFS game was in early 1999.

I don't think there was a ferrari in Need for Speed: Porsches Unleashed I think there was just a bunch of porsches (because that's all they got)Need for Speed:High Stakes had a 550 Maranello and a F50
