Porsches exclusive to EA

In a article in the New York Times I have read: Electronic Arts, for example, has an arrangement with Porsche by which the automaker’s cars appear only in the Need for Speed series

Why would Porsches do something like that? Surely the money involve cannot compensate for preventing a better exposure to Porsches product in other games, like Gran Turismo.!!!

NFS used to be one of the best racing series around, so of course Porsche would glady accept the huge paycheque from EA to give them exclusive rights to their cars. I don't think either party expected NFS to decline in sales quite so much later on in life. Hopefully when/if their contract expires, Porsche won't renew the deal and allow PD, Turn10 and everyone else to have Porsche in their games.
