So I have used my clubsport pedals for the last month. Been OK so far, but today, plugged them in and started having a problem.

I have only used them on console. I am using the GT2 wheel and fanatec shifter.

All of the sudden, the gas would not sense full throttle, I would give it full travel, but wouldn't accelerate all the way(in forza 3). I then started to troubleshoot. Unplugged the PS/2 cable from the wheel, plugged it back in, and it worked again. I also unplugged and plugged back in the PS/2 cable into the pedals themselves. In forza now, i have to press it almost half way to get it to sense it now.

So onto GT5. I really have to press hard to get full throttle, but ive also noticed when I come to a complete stop, the gas sensor is still saying its pressed some. But I am not giving it any pressure. Then sometimes when I sit in neutral, the gas goes all the way up.

So then I plugged it into the computer, and pulled up the software to check the pedals. Brake works, clutch works, but the gas sensor shows up a little, even though i am not pressing on it.

Sorry for the long post, but has anyone else experienced this?? Is it a bad potentiometer???

Hi, think you did good checking with PC SW, takes a lot out of the equation.
For me potensiometer (but ain't that just for brake), or accelerator pedal right back(not stuck, or return spring force), or could be magnetic sensor. Or it could bad cable/ bad contacts.
With PC don't look right, so maybe sensor.

Cheers BOB

thanks for the response bibio. I may have to just video tape it and send it into fanatec. Anyone else experience something similar to this?

Hi, I have a similar problem but didn't have time yet to solve it, maybe tomorrow.

Check that the wire/plug going to the little board on the pedal side wasnt pushed by the you foot by mistake. Had the same thing happen to me and it was the plug was bent, I had rested my foot on it and I could see the pins on one side and it had fault contact. I straight the plug and pushed it back in and it worked like it was suppose to, no issue ever since. Also check the set screw in the pedal is not loose and the pass thru pin has moved from the set position.

I tightened the set screws, and tightened the screw on the back of the pedal that holds the sensor. Its all beautiful now. Thanks for the info everyone. Glad I don't have to send them in/get new parts.

Hi. I'm having a slightly different problem that I'm fairly certain is all mechanical. My Clubsports are only about a month old and have no problem with not getting full throttle, but it doesn't always go back to zero. It's a matter of the pedal physically sticking, I need to either pull it up or let it snap off, lifting my foot doesn't let the spring push hard enough to defeat it.

As it got worse, actually to the point of sticking at half throttle sometimes, I realized that the peg that holds the brake pedal in place had worked its way almost completely out of the pedal. I managed to fit it back into position and that fixed it, or so I thought.

The peg continually works back out of place, and as soon as it moves 1/8 inch it falls out of one side and the gas starts to stick again, generally when using the brake. But even when it is in position I still have it happen, albeit rarely, and again usually tied to being on the brake.

I tightened the nuts on the back of the gas, as they had come quite loose, but I can't tighten the sensor itself(it feels tight, but...) yet as I don't have a wrench that is the right size. I'm going to have to get a whole set of wrenches for this thing.

It only seems to stay in the absolutely correct position for maybe half an hour of use, that's no good. I'm not sure if it's partly because I am forced to left-foot brake in GT5 since I don't have a shifter(RANT: I should be able to use the clutch if I want to, even with the paddles, that's stupid. /RANT). I didn't notice any problem when I was using my right foot in rFactor for a little while, but it could have started then and I just didn't notice, rF seems to be a lot less sensitive at the low end of the pedal range.

Is this a common problem, with the pedal physically sticking like this, and tied to the brake? And is it also common that the adjustment peg repeatedly works itself out of place? If anybody knows of any tips that might help eliminate this, and help hold that peg in - tape seems unlikely to work and I don't want to do anything permanent - I'd greatly appreciate it. I'll try tightening the sensor screws once I find the proper tool set. All of my guitar allen wrenches are either too big or too little for all the screws in the pedal.

You'll need a 10mm wrench or socket plus a 4mm allen key to adjust and tighten the pedal faces. You'll need a 2.5mm allen key to tighten the hinge pivot pegs. Those also house the magnets that trigger the hall effect sensors, so it's important they don't move.

Check out Wiha Tools. Their stuff is really robust. I like their ball-end allen keys.

Thanks! I did notice that the one on the gas pedal does seem to have a little play to wobble up and down a little bit which the others don't, although the peg itself seems pretty stationary. Oddly, the brake pedal doesn't have that wobble but keeps losing the peg. I'm sure there's quite a difference in the force each receives of course.
