I'm playing GT4 in "restricted" save mode and have noticed the following "annomally" which may or may not be a bug.

When I enter a race series (e.g. Japansese Events->Japan Championship in a Acura DN-X and Japansese Events->Japan Compact Cup in a Mazda KUSABI) in A-spec mode, I only receive the credit for the mies driven in the last race of the series in my status screen.
e.g.
I drive 5 races in a series, racking up a total of 72.3 miles (the last race being 12 miles). After completing the series, my A-spec miles in the status screen only increases by 12 miles (not 72.3).

I've found a work around, which is to exit the series after each race (to the main GT4 career mode menu page) and then return to the race series. When I do this my mileage increments correctly to reflect the total distance covered.

Any thoughts? Has anyone else noticed the same behaviour? Would switching to automatic save mode cure this probem? (Just want to make sure I'm not doing anything stupid...).

If this is so i am really disapointed it the GT4 team what a obvious mistake i will investigate

I noticed this yesterday! I thought I was seening things, guess not huh...
I should easly have double what I have now, though B-spec dosent have this problem. So i'm kind-of concerned.

As a follow up to my original post, I also had the same thing happen in B-spec mode as well. :grumpy:
Also, if I do a single race, and then use "retry" instead of exiting back to the event menu, I only get credit for the mileage travelled in the retry (not the original race).

Whoo boy somebody should send PD a can of raid.

Seriously though does this only happen with those 2 concept cars?

no it doesnt save wear and tear on ur motor, i have over 2000 miles on one particular car that i just use for Bspec. its done the 1000mile classic car championship TWICE - so there is over 2000 miles on the car. but bspec shows that i only have 900 bspec miles. (note: i should prolly have close to 3x times that amount of bspec miles by now)

so makes me wonder what else doesnt keep track correclty

Yes, it seems to affect all cars, and I should have mentioned that the car mileage does increase (so it doesn't save wear and tear); it's just the A-spec and B-spec miileage that doesn't increase.

i new something was wrong im like 28.4% done and 821 miles on aspec none on bspec amd i have had up to 5million bucks ive done lots of championships all of usa and some jpn and 2 europe i thoght theres no way i only have 821 miles

i have a theory that havent tested to its fullest yet, but i think if you press start button right after a race (shortcut to skip the race results) that is when you dont get your miles.

No, they don't, but it's still nice to know. I've noticed this mileage problem as well, I have over 1500 miles on my CLK Touring Car (that i've only used in B-spec mode in the german touring car championship), and it says I only have just over 500 miles in B-spec mode on the status screen. Ugh. I also don't like how you can't see the miles in the cars on the list, you have to actually click on the cars to view the miles for it...

the entire GT series is so full of little miniscule mistakes... maybe for GT5 they will wise up and beta the game before it's release...

I mean, seriously.. how could they not notice that they are listing cars in KGs in AMERICA WHERE EVERYTHING IS LBS HELLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe this has to do with the fact that you only get B-Spec points the second time you run a race if the points are higher than you were awarded the first time. Like A-Spec points you can't run up your total by doing races over and over, you only get more points if the point value is higher. Example, if you run a race and get 65 A-spec points, if the next time you run it you would get less than or equal to 65 points you don't get any, but if you would get over 65 points then you keep the 65 points you already have and are awarded the new value - 65 points. I heard this was also true in B-Spec, maybe that's the answer.

No, we're talking about miles, not points. But I can see your idea on that situation.

Does this only apply to those two cars?

Just be happy your car isnt racking up a lot of miles.. you shouldnt be complaining on this matter, this is a great bug..

Apparent;y, its not the car. It's your stats. The car still gains that mileage.
