With the advent of online racing, it's difficult to determine what region each member is from. Some members list this in their signature, others not.. it's hit or miss, but would it be possible to add a field as in the attached image?

This is a pretty good idea in my opinion, some people put locations that doesn't tell which state/country they're in, this will give you an idea of what area they're in. I don't see anything wrong with this. :D

I actually think I would rather see people use the From field appropriately. Of course, hopefully regions won't be an issue when private races in GT5:P are introduced.

So would I.. but it can't exactly be enforced. Then again, the same could be said of my suggestion. Thanks for the perspective.

When you are curious about someone's location, you could also send them a quick PM asking them to update that field, or include their game region there (as I see you have done). It would probably catch on, or at least encourage people to be more specific about their where they are from.

Excellent suggestion. Hopefully a trend would emerge. Would it be uncouth to start a thread for this purpose?

Speaking of which.. are you NTSC? ;)

Not at all! :)

Yes. But, then again, you don't need me to include that additional information (because I was accurate with my geographic location), do you?

Folks. "On the road" "in the fast lane" "here" and other **** ARE NOT LOCATIONS. The same kinds of people who have these locations then post threads asking about what car to get in the CiG forum and leave that information out of their posts, so we're taking shots in the dark. Then twenty five posts later they say "Oh I'm from Australia."

THE single most annoying thing about GTP, bar none. Except MAYBE people getting name changes.

Well, since you referenced my quote, you'll also note that I put "NTSC" beside it. Perhaps that's all I want people to know, or I could always lie and put 'Florida' in there, but that's not appropriately using the field, either. You just can't police it.

I have no idea what NTSC is. How hard is it -- city state or city country.

It's not hard, but then again neither is it hard to say PAL or NTSC. I modified my user title so you know where I'm from.

Merely sarcasm. Hence the ;)
