Possible Theory about release date

I was just reading the Forza Forums and was thinking when the US Version of GT4 would come out around the same time frame as Forza, Since GT4 will most likely outsell its obviously tough competitor it'd just give them that more of an edge to hopefully push out its rival, Possible?
 
I already have GT4 Pre-ordered, so I don't get stuck waiting for the backorders. But I am going to get both games, as a comparison, kinda. They both look great, but GT4, as always, looks better. :D So I don't know...we'll just have to wait...and wait...and wait...and then we'll see. :D

And I'm guessing you're talking about the American version...being as the Asian version is out already.
 
yep the american version, I work up at my local gamestop and all it says in the computer is "February" usually that means that it gets pushed back, or until an exact date for forza. Originally The JP and US versions were only 2-3 weeks by eachother, now its looking around 3 months, to me that seems kinda odd especially with a forza continually getting delayed to around the same time also
 
That would mean delaying it until Q2. Since the game is already out in Japan, SCEA would have no excuse this time. "Finishing touches" and "Last minute tweaks" don't cut it on a game that's already complete.
 
Well forza got pushed back to april and if gt4 really is trynig to "crush" the sales of forza then a lot of people will actually be stingy of the long wait just to see if gt4 will sell better....

Funny, so you think PD and / or Sony are worried about forza? -_-;

not saying a delay could come because of Forza.. BUT... GT3 had a release date 1 day after the japan version.. and we all know how that turned out... it was released months after that.

Hey I didnt think that Xbox's would sell NEARLY as well as they did during Christmas, and games like Project Gotham sold Respectivly well, not near as well as the GT Franchise, but put an App thats up with GT on specs and do the traditional microsoft "Advertise The Crap out of it" and you'll have a seller.

Also games that are set to due out near the Christmas Period that get delayed often give them Pre-Orders even know they will end up forcing a late release date, Such as Half-Life 2, it was set to come out before christmas, thus TONS Of pre-orders yet it got delayed over a year, but they got all the pre-order sales from the holiday season allowing them to not lose such an important time of year.
 
US players listen up. I can confirm that unless anything changes between how and then you denifatly get get GT4 on 22nd Febuary. UK get it on the 25th.

Forza has been delayed untill the 23rd of April for US and 26th April in the UK
 
I hope they are tweaking a few of the minors things in GT4 for the US release, but I am not getting my hopes up. Besides most if not all of those minor things I can ignore.
 
I can say this...If we indeed are in this long wait cus of tweaks and stuff i really hope it will be some awesome tweaks and i hope they include more tracks and more usa/eu cars. What did they say? Over 50 tracks and over 750 cars well ihope PD isnt lying cus then i will be force to sue them hehe......kidding.....But still i hope the wait is worth it, i dont care if i wait some more days or moths as long as i will be pleased.....well i havn't completed gt3 yet hehe. I really hope that the present GT4 that is realeased now is just a large demo hehe......

I agree that preorders being strategically placed before Christmas is common practice, although HL2 was delayed because the source code was leaked, meaning they started over from scratch, hence the massive delay.


Is it just me or is anyone getting tired of these release date threads? I have friends that work in video game distribution, he gives me a new date every 2 weeks, he calls me, tells me, we both have a laugh then try to see if we can guess what the next date will be.

Seriously WAIT FOR SONY TO MAKE A PRESS RELEASE!!!!!

If you quit replying to them they quit coming back to the top of the page. Just some quick advice for people who dont want to see threads resurfacing.
 
Why would PD want its product to go head to head with another game? The best situation for PD is if GT4 is the only racing game on the market. I don't think PD is worried about pushing out its competitor, but more about selling units.
 
This is a REPOST of the 'New Release Date" thread. All of these 'theories' have been debunked there already. And nothing personal, but ChristmasGTO's just about takes the cake. Use the search please... 👎
