Possible virus? help

Hello, the other day i was messing around on the computer and download an old NES emulator for PC and weird things started happening when i tried to install it. Lots of CPU usage and then it went down so i thought it was just the installer or something but then my computer shut off randomly and restarted. So that got a me a little concerned but i checked the process list in my task manager and nothing was out of sync so i just went on about my business and about 2 hours later i was surfing the web and the browser just closed out, this happened 2 or 3 times so i thought id just ask if anybody knows this is a virus or something else?

I'd remove the program from your PC. If your computer still does weird after that, run a scan 👍 Also, when you want to download it once again, try to download it from a different webpage or location, it could be that there is a bug or virus on the program file...
