Newbie here, trying to give my 16 y/o son a run for his money.

I'm trying to win the Gran Turismo All Stars event and the best car I have right now is a ARTA NSX mostly maxed out at about 615 pp. I know you can win a furari (?) something or other in b spec, which can supposedly win "Like the Wind" race and get me a race car but I don't have the patience.

I managed to win the first race, and I think I can win the Nurburgring (got 2nd) but I've pretty much been blown away in the rest of them. So my question for you addicts, er, I mean experts is- can I win this race with my Honda if I improve my skills, or am I just spinning my wheels (yuk, yuk!)???

Could you post the tune, controller type, and driver options/settings(ABS, TCS, Manual/Auto,etc) you're using? I might be able to test it and get back to you.

USARMYCOMBATVET- Thanks (for service to country), I am using auto- tranny and everything is mostly stock settings. I have upgraded the engine and most every other item to the max except for the turbo which is on mid range I believe. I don't know much what I'm doing so I haven't fooled with downforce or anything like that. I'll try to get you the info as to exactly what I have, I would be very interested to hear the results. Thank you!

grasshopper- Thanks for the offer, but I'm getting a kick out of trying to compete with what I have right now. Maybe I'll take you up on it after I fail miserably.

I figured I would give this a try, so I jump into my Honda ARTA NSX and give it a quick tune to the 615PP that you mention.

I quickly win the first four races in the GT All-Stars Series, and then lose the fifth race at Tokyo R246. I didn't have enough straight-line speed to catch the leaders, so I ended up in 5th place.

This fifth race might be winnable going against an easier lineup (and using some blocking tactics towards the end of the straight on each lap).

I will check out a couple of different lineups and see if I can find an easier one.

What level are you?

If you are level 23 you could purchase the Mazda 787B Race Car '91 from the Mazda dealership and make winning this race Series much easier.

And after 5 laps on the Tokyo R246 track, I eek out a winning margin of 0.125 seconds!

The Courage C60 came thru the field and challenged me for the win. The Nissan R390 GT1 was less than a second back. Both cars took turns drafting past me on the long S/F straight, but I was able to get past them going thru turn one and then could hold them off for the rest of the lap.

28, I think? My son has been playing it too and helping me plenty as far as advancing levels. As long as I know it is doable I'd like to keep giving it a go with what I've got- more fun that way to me.

Gol dang GTsail that is some good driving winning the first four! I got smoked on the second and third (I think) and also forgot to mention that I had to cheat (last turn before start/finish) in the first race to win, but felt I was justified because I was so out-gunned. Evidently I have a long way to go in the skills department.

As you mention, the first race at Trial Mountain is the easiest. Its a tight course so the AI is relatively slow.

Both the second race at Grand Valley and the third race at the Nurburgring have enough turns to slow down the AI. On the 'Ring, just make sure you have a lead of at least 3-4 seconds when you reach the final long straight (Dottinger) so the AI won't catch you before you get to the end.

The fourth race at Cape Ring has plenty of curves to slow down the AI, so the only place that they will eat you up is on the long S/F straight.

If you are interested, I can send you the tune for my ARTA NSX (though, I'm not a tuner, so don't expect anything special)

I like the Nurburgring so that's the one I did OK in. I was in 1st at the long straight at the end but had to play a little dirty pool and do some blocking as they were coming up fast. One got by and I got 2nd.

The second and fourth races are the ones where I got my a$$ handed to me, gotta practice more. I am completely clueless so I am interested in any and all tuning tips.
