Just looking for what people's thoughts are with this, so it's just a research thing at the moment.

The format I'm looking at right now goes as follows:

  • 2wd road cars only (No RM models allowed)
  • Up to 400bhp maximum power
  • 1200kg minimum weight
  • 520pp maximum
  • Races will be based on roughly 20 minutes
  • Tyres fixed at Racing Medium or Soft
  • Full damage on, tyre wear and fuel depletion on, penalties on max, boost off
  • tcs srf and asm off
How you achieve the power, weight and pp levels is up to you but the car must conform to all three in order to qualify. You may have a wing on your car, but in some cases it will become completely useless as it may take you over the pp limit.

There will be three events across the night in question, with three different venues. One of which will be of my own creation, with two GT original tracks. There will be a 5-15 minute qualifying session for each race, depending on how many people are in the room at the time. Races will not start until there are at least eight competitors within the circuit.
Those on racing softs will no doubt need to pit at around half distance, depending on how well you treat the tyres, whereas those on mediums may be able to get to the end without pitting. This is something I've yet to test approve but the theory seems sound enough.

Tapping another car will be allowed, but blatant non-use of brakes or any other manoeuvres to take someone out of the race will be harshly penalised. Even to the point of being kicked from the room, essentially being disqualified for the remaining rounds of the event.

Concept cars, LM models and racing models are forbidden from the series too.

So far I've managed to test run three cars, which all conform to this and all post consistently similar lap times:

  • BMW 330i '05
  • Volkswagon Golf GTi V '05
  • Ford Focus ST '06
There are some other cars which I will be looking into and will add them if there's enough interest.

Points will be something I work on closer to setting up the events for real, but will probably be based on a "10 places get points" system of some kind.

So, what do you think? Would this be of interest?

I've added the poll and made the polled choices visible, so please be honest and try to add constructive criticism, or praise, as your choices will be called out.
