post counts

I know one that that worked for us at the Skylines Downunder forums for curbing post whoring. Remove the number of posts under everyone's name. By doing this though certain other criteria needs to be addressed such as when you are allowed to change to a custom avitar. You could base that on time or straight away. We changed that to financial members of the car club. Along with custom title names being only allowed that way.

Since this is an open style forums you could say do it all on a time based format instead of a posting format. If they have nothing to shoot for in post count usually the post whoring drops off all by itself.
 
this has been raised before.

id like everyone to have a custom avatar and status. i dont care about post counts as long as im able to change my status and avatar
 
Postcounts are already on the "chopping block" for GTP 5. :)

Sorry, that's all I'm saying! You'll have just have to wait and keep an eye out for hints to see when 5 draws near... :tapedshut :)

Dudebusta or " " please change that avatar. I can't stand to look at it. I seriously get disgusted by seeing that. It is just so ugly.

But, do you really want someone to post more if all it is is useless spam? I prefer quality over quantity.

Hes going to replace postcounts with some kind of Karma system...
or something, I dont remember the exact way he said it.

That may sound dumb because I forgot the meaning of Karma and forgot how to spell Dictionary.com :)

Try ieSpell. It spell checks any and every form in your browser with the push of a toolbar button. :)
 
Would the Karma system (if there is gonna be one) gonna be like www.gamefaqs.com or somehting like one of hte rpg mods for vbulliten (with all the good stuff, hp, mp stats, )?

Yes, and no, it all depends on when vB 3 is released, and I'm not working on GTP 5 with vB 3 in mind. I haven't tried the new LFS, I'll have to check it out... :cool:

I have yet to figure it out completely, using the alpha version of vB 3, so I can't really answer that. :(

Ok. If you look through all the posts, he has told you everything there is to know about the New release. He even told the date.

Everyone whenever this subject gets mentioned gets all "TELL US!" Well he has, do some searching.
