I'm not going to play the role of some people when they poked fun at the infamous "Grand Canyon Sky Debate," but... expect this thread to last as long as Vanilla Ice's career. The reason why the public will perceive this as a lame thread is because:
(1) Some people are mostly posting mock release dates anyways with no official word. This reminds me of when I chatted on AOL at times, and someone would bust into the Chat making a bogus news update and expecting people to believe it. While AOL chats burn in Hell as long as people show little or no respect online, go fig.
(2) Another reason this will be closed soon is because it goes against what official word will give about in this case, the release date for GT4. I hate to say this, but when PD tells us it's ready to release the game, bogus dates for it will only (a) give lowlifes online something to b*tch about online (like the "778 CARS CONFIMRED!!!" deal), and (b) force people into posting misinformation, which leads to many followers being ticked about an inaccurate date.
(3) I almost never say this, but someone else will. But, it's stupid to come up with a topic like this. The world obviously cannot wait for GT4's release. But as hard as Polyphony Digital is working to make the game, they really need to take all the time they can get to make it. I can recall a Robotech game called "Robotech: Crystal Dreams" for the N64 nearly a decade ago. However, the game was cancelled. No matter what date would come up, it wasn't to be, and Robotech fans would miss out. So in making games, it isn't "I want it now, damn it!" But it's more like, "we need all the time we can to make this game, and we cannot afford distractions or inaccurate release dates." Remember, GT4 won't be a regular racing game. It wants to build on the success of GTs 1, 2, and 3, and what better way to do it with a complete overhaul with GT4?
So, NO BOGUS DATES!!! Good things come to those who wait. By the way, welcome to GTPlanet, Rezz. And for this thread, I'm the first American to this thread (and maybe the last), so nice to talk with someone from my favorite country in the world.
