started this up so if people want to post their time trail videos and/or records. I don't personally know if the leader boards on the game show all platforms or just the one your playing so ill post up the first video.

Also I would recommend posting what place you are on your leader board, so you could see if your the fastest overall or fastest on your platform.

Car: McLaren P1 on Nurburgring (6:55:688) 2nd on PC as of 5-15-2015

I was hoping one of these would be created. Unfortunately, I've yet to make a clean lap around The Ring ha ha.
I think it's going to be awhile before I post in here.

Is the video edited? Look around 2:08 mark, if not this is some impressive driving.
No sir, I did run it trough vegas to add in the leaderbaords at the end and due to it being recorded live (AND RAW) the file size was 15.6 GB (314 Mb/sec)! Now its down to a reasonable 1.67Gb File at 28 Mb/sec

I never fake videos like this, next time ill add in a RL wheel cam lol.

Sorry didn't mean to claim fake just the hand movement looks weird but it's the way it was animated. Nice driving my friend.

I'm pretty sure each leader board is platform specific. No way I'd get this high otherwise, lol.

Is everyone running same settings?
As in no assists or assists set to real?

I assumed so, since it's a time trial, there's no tuning and no options to adjust, but now that you ask I'm beginning to doubt myself. I don't have steering or traction assists on in my global settings, but I do use ABS and the driving line though, so that's a really good question. I'll have to fire up my PS4 here soon and check.

Although if PCars allows people to use different aids for these online rankings, that's a huge oversight on both our parts.

I'm pretty sure people are allowed to use any assists for time trial mode, in a way I think I prefer it this way because a lot of people can't handle cars without certain assists so it gives everyone a chance to compete otherwise the leaderboards would be much emptier.

Looking at the top of some of the popular PC leaderboards it looks mixed on what assists people are using, although I recognise a few names who are setting top times with no assists. For now I'd say the biggest problem would be the corner cutters on some tracks.

You might be right... I guess I'm thinking too much about GT5/6 where aids could be abused to an advantage. If that's not the case in PCars, then I don't care. I haven't even tried the steering assist, so I'm not positive how it works, but as long as it isn't the equivalent of Skid Force Recovery in GT5, then it isn't an issue.

Basically, as long as the aids in the game can't be used to artificially go faster, then I have no issue with them.
Also, I agree, I was surprised at the leniency of corner cutting. I tried to keep 2 tires on (corkscrew is close) but I know that you can essentially do anything you want in the corkscrew, and can get a way with a LOT in the sharp left that leads up to the corkscrew. I was slightly disappointed by that.

Got a 2.07.915 in a Formula Gulf at Silverstone GP. All assists off with the exception of Auto Gearing, using a PS4 Controller and think I was running slick tyres.

Lovely little car. :)

PS4 T300 Zonda R @ Road America, first run very early days #1 for now :D

Nord run Zonda r, first run very early days #1 for now :D

Do you have problems with the Zonda overhearing tires after one hot lap on Silverstone and RA?

Just curious, what is the best way to record and share videos? Thanks!
I do it straight through the PS4's share menu and it loads directly to your youtube account, even allows you to edit the length of the video. Not sure about other formats. PC users in an old game I use to play used FRAPS, not sure if that's even still a thing though.

Very impressive run on the Nordschleife 👍
Please share your setup.. :P

I hadn't don't much with it to be honest, first real run. Just Made the car higher and dropped some DF.
Lost more to go yet 👍

They are platform specific but I believe the physics are the same so the times should be comparable across all platforms.

I don't think so. One thing I discovered, which irked me quite a bit actually, it's that "real" settings" aren't always real, and it seems, on the pc version at least, when you put real settings on, you also get stability control, even on karts for God's sake:yuck: I worked my way up to the top of the leaderboard at one of the tracks, then checked my time online and was horrified to discover that stability control was on, when I had it set to real. Now I manually put whatever aids the vehicle comes with as active in the gameplay menu just to be sure.

If you go down this list here, the fifth column under assists tells you which assists were used. Many have traction control, ABS and stability control on. I went back and re-did my lap and gained 2/10ths without the aids but I can't say definitively whether I was faster with or without in that case.
Well here is my next best Time with the Mercedes Benz 300SEL 6.8 AMG On Nurburging (8:29:694)(PC)
I had two Oh S*** Moments but it was a good lap.
How do you get an 8 minute video on pc? Do you record in real time or is there a way to save the replay. All mine are only 2 minutes long, I probably missed a setting or something.

It's crazy how much time we are finding when pushing each other like this. I feel like this thread is about to be just our videos every other page. :sly:

How do the assists code on that leaderboard read? Similar to yourself, I have been using real assists and have set a fastest time, but would like to check what assists it really used.

My leaderboard time shows a green P, C, W, I and a red +. What does this mean?

Also, is there a resource that can tell us what assists the real car is supposed to have, so that we can adjust accordingly?

Thanks.
