First of all.. is this allowed? If so, I was wondering, seeing that you can only post one vid.. why not post the runner-ups here?? I'm sure that all who is competing have more than 1 vid on their memory card.. In my case, I have like 8 replays... but only two decent ones... with different cars.. so, I was thinking why not post the second one (the reject) for people to view???

If this is not allowed, please let me know.. :)

First, I'm not trying to 'set the rules' or anything but it seems to me that it wouldn't be much different from sharing your final video since it clearly demonstrates your skill level. Whether or not it's submittable is determined not by your skill but by whether or not you pull it off on each corner. Skill can even be seen in mistakes. How often did you fly off the road when you messed up early on? How about now?

Second, it seems to me that for that reason, you wouldn't want to share your video because it gives away your disadvantages AND secrets (unless you have none). It's even possible to approximate a person's settings by watching them drift, if you have enough experience.

I'm sure every participant would want to safe their final entry for the facts mentioned by you pergatory.. in my case, I'm entering a totally different vid using a different car, hence a different style...

Catch, sure you have a fast internet connection and lots of free time, but I don't have now much free time and I have the 56k modem so.... for me it's enough with uploading the entry for the GTPDC5.

Damn man, I finished my GTPDC vid on my 2nd lap.

I still havn't started mine, been working on my GT4:P drift video instead... I tried my Altezza on Monaco though, but I still don't know what I want to drift on this course.

Unfortunately I don't have a fast internet connection - not like most others

But I do have time now... but soon... that will also be a luxury for me

Exactly... it's like having a splinter in your toe... just pull it out...

No hassle - no fuss... nothing to get those nerves and adrenalin pumping...

In this way... I pitty you... :/

1st off, Yeah I started with the FC, then realised that I would rather use my S13. I haven't started the S13 entry yet. I have the FC entry done, but it really sucks. I just can't really seam to get the FC to work well on that course. I can usually drift any car on any track, but I just don't like the FC for this course, for some reason. I should have my GTPDC entry done today, with my Silvia.

Secondly, I would like to agree with Pergatory. If you post your vids, even if they're not your final entry, it just let's everyone see the lines you are taking, and your overall skill level. I am keeping my vids secret, until after the comps, and Team Battle. Then I will release a polished, well produced, "best of" vid. I am, however, going to be releasing a Mildbrid drift vid, in about 2 weeks (roughly). Some very interesting realistic hybrids, performing some cool links......coming soon. ;)

I don't worry about giving away secrets... like I said.. two totally different cars... two separate styles :) And if someone, somehow figures my line and style - good for them - maybe then they will realize which is the correct way to do it!

Just joking!!!

I'm just trying to make sense out of this whole thing...
I don't think you understand. It only took him 2 tries to get a clean lap, that was worth entering. Why would he keep trying, If it's done? Also, the Team Battle is something that takes a lot of thought to organize, and make sure everything is taken care of and easy to follow, so there is no confusion. Furthermore, the Team Battle has been a long time comin', and so it is kind of important to make sure it runs smoothly. ;)

If that is the case.. to get a clean lap.. it will not be a true reflection of his skill right? The idea is to post your best replay of that track... and not just the first "clean" lap that you get... and I'm certain that his entry is not his best one... thus giving him an advantage/excuse over the rest of the competitors... why? Coz if he doesn't win his round or if someone else scores more points, he can always say that it was not his best replay - which is unfair IMHO.

Skill is reflected by consistancy. Unlike you, I don't need to spend days upon days hoping to get lucky and score a good enough lap to post. I was able to do that within 4 minutes. I have no need for excuses because I'm confident that my lap, while not the best, WILL put some of you out of the competition.

Agreed. After a while, it's just in muscle memmory. He was happy with his lap, so he entered it.....end of story. When your talented, it doesn't take 10 laps. ;)

So basically you saying that you don't even have to enter your best lap to win this "by-the-way" competition?? And Yes.. it didn't take me 4 minutes for my lap... it took many replays to come up with a decent one - it may not be the best replay when judged, but I will be glad and proud to have put effort into it..

And what makes it more interesting is the fact that I'm going to be entering a FR replay which all of you know I'm still struggling with - but that makes it so interesting.. will give me an idea as to how I compare to those who drift FRs all the time...

And now you have stated yourself that it's not your best lap... nice backup bro...

You make it sound like I put out some half assed lap thinking I'm gonna win this thing. That's not the case. I put out a very good lap, and I am almost certain I won't win. Is there room for improvement? There always is, but if you haven't noticed I don't care that much at this moment. You say I'll be making excuses yet you seem to be the one making excuses saying you're just now getting used to FR. Well how about this. I'll keep my current lap, and if I feel like I'll improve it. And just to one-up you, I'll do a lap in a 4WD, and I will out-do you in 2 laps. If you don't like it, I still don't care.

You are contradicting yourself bro.. now all of a sudden you put out a "good lap"?? It didn't sound like this a few posts ago... Improvement - ofcoz you can improve BECOZ THATS NOT YOUR BEST LAP! Geez!! How many times do I have to repeat this???

Me and FR is not an excuse - it's a fact.. my goodness man... you should know!! You are then the one who offered to help me a short while ago... excuses??? Ha!

So now you wanna one-up me.. in the old Monkey D tradition... go ahead bro.. do what you always do... maybe it will make you sleep better at night if you do... geez...

When did I say it wasn't a good lap?

I never offered to help anyone recently to my knowledge.

I don't need to get used to any drivetrain to show you up. FR is an excuse for you. The driver is what counts, not the car. I will one-up you in a 4WD just to prove that.
