Jordan, is it possible to implement direct uploading of pictures for posts without having to go through a third party host to generate a link? On AVS Forum's mobile site, we can upload pix directly from the camera roll on our devices. They gave up on using a separate app for mobile users. The mobile web site is quite robust, one of the best I've seen.

Or even launching the camera to take a picture for instant posting?

You have to use a third party site such as flickr or imgur etc. to host the image and then embed the link here. The upload does not work on mobile devices.

Jordan is however in the process (if I remember correctly) of swapping GTP to a mobile site rather than the app due to the issues that have been found with it. So maybe that feature will be included but I don't know.

Yes, that will be coming to the site in the near future. 👍

Which is precisely why I'm asking about a direct upload function, As i stated, bypassing the third party hosting to generate a code, which we currently use. Not a huge deal, I use the PhotoBucket app anyway.

Are you trying to implement a direct upload feature similar to AVS Forum?

In case it was missed, an option to upload from the Camera Roll or from the camera would be pretty nifty. While we're at it, what about video with maybe a 3 minute time limit, like Facebook uses?

I like how you have the app setup for iPad Jordan, and being optimized for iPhone 5!

I doubt Jordan has the space or bandwidth to be hosting videos, that's what Youtube is for.

Also AVSForum is powered by completely different software. I don't think it'd be possible within vBulletin even with a mod but I get the feeling Jordan is moving away from vB soon.

Yes, you'll be able to upload photos directly from your mobile device. I don't plan on hosting videos.
