The biggest source of controversy that GT7 has (besides the always-online requirement and not having every car in the game as a rental car in the Arcade Modes) is indeed, the in-game economy with otherwise overpriced cars (some of which reflect their inflated prices, or value sold at auctions) and weak payouts, therefore enforcing the idea of "more grind, less fun" and making players resort to optional, but predatory microtransactions.

If it's going to take long to finish a race, it better be worth your trouble. I remember very well in GT PSP where you can earn Cr. 150,000 every four minutes driving a Bugatti Veyron around the Driving Park Test Course oval circuit.

Here's my potential suggestions for how to improve the in-game economy:
  • All events’ credits rewards should be increased by 500%.
  • There should also be a 50% credits bonus for running the fastest lap in a race. In theory, it would be possible to earn double credits for running a clean race with the fastest lap.
  • Prizes from roulette tickets should no longer be rigged and will have a more unpredictable outcome. Furthermore, roulette tickets shouldn't expire.
  • The Daily Workout should be re-adjusted to ensure that roulette tickets are awarded every 42.2km (26mi), instead of just once a day.
  • The Daily Log-in bonus from GT6 must be re-implemented, with 110% extra credits will be awarded for the first day, followed by 125% on the second, 150% on the third, 175% on the fourth and 200% for the fifth and onward.
  • Selling cars should definitely return. Cars should be sold from 50% of their original resale value when bought, while those won as rewards will be sold at 25% of their original price. The value of cars sold should also include that of tuning parts and customization bought for that specific car as well.
  • Credits limit should be increased to Cr. 999,999,999.
  • A new pavilion (game mode) in the Gran Turismo island should be added where you can auction cars, and that players can buy and sell other players' vehicles too.
  • Any new race events added from updates should follow the same economy principles as this.

  • Credits limit should be increased to Cr. 999,999,999.

Let me know if you have any more suggestions. Remember, only suggest ideas to improve the in-game economy.
Sorry, but what you write there sounds more like a land of milk and honey to me than a meaningful "improvement".

It could really be a little more, but not as extreme as you describe. Because that sounds like FH5 or some shoddy NFS Acarde title.

If you can already buy the most expensive cars in the game after a few days for credits that you can get on the side without much "work", then the cars are worth nothing. Then you can make all cars available for free. I don't care about MTX. These MTXs in the game are purely optional for me, whoever wants to buy them should do so, whoever doesn't... just don't buy them.

I would:

1. Increase all rewards by 10-30%.

2. I would add many more races that are more difficult, have more rounds, and also offer high rewards.

3. I would introduce a "first time bonus". This bonus should be 100-200% and be paid out the first time you race this track for the day, now if you repeat the race on this track the bonus should be reduced by 1/4 until it's the same track after 4 times no more "extra bonus". As a result, the players would quickly switch to other routes, so they would have more variety.

4. The roulette could be revised, either there should be more tickets of higher value, which means you can get better prizes, or the prices behind the tickets should be higher overall.

5. Can sell cars.. BUT ONLY the vehicles that you bought yourself, or that were a reward for a race and are not awarded again as a prize.

6. An auction house for vehicles and/or tuning parts.

7. All Vehicles
should be available for a test drive. For legendary vehicles 15 minutes + compensation if you bump into it ;). 30 minutes for used cars and 60 - 120 minutes for new cars. This allows everyone to test in advance whether they really want the car.

Good ideas but they make the game too fast to finish. The fast bonus + the credit limit removal are way to go.

Regardless of what the payouts for the races are, the bigger issue IMO is the reward vs effort. It doesn’t matter if you look pre or post nerf, when a 3 minute race pays out way better than a 10 lap endurance race or even a full fledged championship, there is something very wrong with the economy.

Also, having worthy race payouts only for the pre-baked menu book races and not for time trials or custom races is another big blunder.

Let’s first fix the 2 issues above and then see how the actual payout values need to be improved.

Hopefully the dlc content will help. As they said they adding to all aspects of career . Hopefully they will add a decent champ league with gt all stars and endurance league both of which typically come with high credit prizes. I hope for this the lack of 10 plus lap races is a real shame to me and in contrast to most entries in the series. I heard that new races unlocked when completing the cafe menu. So cracked on asap expecting a lot also for the fozzas for manufacturer cup. I got there and only a handful of races unlock. And I haven’t found an f1 cup yet which is a joke. If you are a fast player and don’t like getting shunted 24/7 online it is extremely difficult how few hard races they are compared to usual. Even the missions (although not done the last 2 sets) have been toned down imo. However despite the negativity it is far and away the best console sim of all time and the only gt to hold a candle to gt 3 and 4 imo

In terms of car costs I think this is not a bigger issue then last time. To grind for those 3 legendary cars at 20 mil each I think was equally time consuming as what they expect this time imo. Not worse . I feel this has been blown up due to addition of micro transactions when in reality the leg vehicles would be priced the same even without micro transactions imo. I left kaz some feedback on insta after his apology saying max gets 25 mil a season now so to reflect real world economics are you gna give us 25 mil for winning the f1 champ. That was before I decided it looks like it doesn’t exit at currently! 😂

He used real world economics as the justification for charging so much for certain vehicles in the game in the apology btw

All they need to do is reduce the price for car parts, remove the credits limit and drastically increase the number of events, races and championships. Not those 7 or whatever from Fallon video, but 100-200-300 more events, with difficulty from easy to hard (and reasonable payouts, so you don't get just 70k credits for some 4h of Nurburgring). I, of course, don't work at PD and don't know what it actually takes to create an event, but it honestly doesn't feel like it can take a lot of work.

For reference, GT7 has 93 race events and ten championships.

Look this doesn't really require much complicated thinking, simply double every payout and the issue is solved. You can then work to balance out the payouts per event so there's not some standout race that people will grind over and over, with the mentality being that surrounding payouts should go up to counter this rather than cutting the single event down.

I don't mind that you would need to hardcore the game to get the very top end cars, I didn't get them in Sport and I didn't feel like I was missing anything personally, but this one is just factually far too stingy even just to access the main core of the content.

I think in-game economy should be improved, but your proposal is more than what's needed imo.
I think doubling the rewards would already be plenty and a 50% increase would go a long way.

Fishermans ranch reward decreased to 30k from 65k so doubling the rewards will still make it worse then the beggining. We need at least 3x more rewards.

Also upgrade parts(especially tyres) needs to be cheaper and body, engine reset should be free. In current economy My Xj13 body reset costs around 13 million which makes no sense at all.

No, no, no. Read my post a few entries earlier. It’s not just “double (or triple or whatever multiplier) the events“ and all is fine. The balance between reward vs effort is completely broken! That needs to addressed first.

Yeah, no online requirement, so we can manipulate our saved games and go online with them! And give us cheat codes or at least 1 million credits each lap on the oval circuit. [/irony]

I'm not sure you're serious about your suggestions or just being sarcastic.

This whole metacritic bombing and whining about too expensive cars sounds like spoiled kids who cant get all the candy they want all at once for me. I have no problem playing the game more and Kaz told us there will be more content so maybe players should just chill out a bit? The game is out for 2-3 weeks and yet you're complaining about that you dont have everything yet. That is ridiculous!

The real problem what i saw yesterday was the multiplayer's manufacturers cup which was bugged(?) and one of the youtube streamers were just disconnected randomly and couldnt go back to the event so all his practicing before (5 hours of constant practice on the map for the cup) were for nothing and he got 0 point. They should fix that instead of listening to crying kids want 324242342 credits in 4 minutes.

Which is clearly not enough. Probably most of those races take 5-10 minutes to complete. With 300 more events, and with a lot of them being harder and longer, especially if they include endurance races, people wouldn't feel like the game is forcing them to grind or use MTX, because most of the people would still have a lot of events to complete by now.
I like Kaz' idea about game's economy, but those additional events are really needed to make his idea work. And they had to be there at launch, but better late than never. And, considering GT is usually a game you play for years, until the next one comes out, new events still would have to be added in updates, and each update should bring more events than GTS updates did.

YOU made MY DAY.. Thanks a lot Bro.

Biggest but far from the only one. GT7 and GT in general is full of holes. Terrible UI/UX, useless cars, infuriating missions, repetitive and bland events, chase the rabbit format not actual racing (or cheating with rubberbanding for older games), artificial scarcity in GT Auto, patronizing license tests, them focusing on useless modes, etc.
For reference, GT7 has 93 race events and ten championships.
Don't talk as if GT7 has many events there's only 48 events (including Championships).

Release the rest of career mode.
Comparing with GT5, seems we only have beginner and amateur series, maybe some of professional series level, nothing compared with Extreme, Expert and Endurance series (yes, 10 lap races with fuel consumption and tire wear multiplied aren't endurance races).

Sure they would have bigger payouts and more targets rather than just grind.
