Should I turn my power assist on or off when playing with a wheel? I am using a DFGT. I always thought this meant power steering. Does it? Or is this some sort of assist like skid recover? I am looking for the most realistic feedback and figure most modern cars have power steering. Whats y'alls take? Thanks

If you want it to be the most realistic then leave it off because...

Power steering assist reduces the force feedback strength temporarily when the game senses that you are making a sudden dramatic move like trying to rapidly spin the wheel to recover from a spin.

Yeah power assist is NOT like power steering. You can adjust the force feedback strength if the force is to hard or soft.

The power assist not like anything in a real car it allows for next to no resistance when you turn the wheel fast.

Think of it as reducing the force feedback strength setting increases the strength of the power steering and turning on power steering assist increases the power steering strength by reducing the force feedback strength only when the wheel is being turned fast which is meant to make it easier to catch a slide or drift.

Personally I have it off an FFB set to 5 which is the default setting.
