Can someone explain this to me? Though it is more temperamental than anything else, the issue has cropped up a few times now and cost me a couple places on multiple occasions.

What's going on is that, say, on the Datona Superspeedway, I'm sitting nicely onto the racing line for the entire race; no reason to brake or anything like that. It seems that occasionally when taking these light corners, it'll get to a point where my accelerator seems to just die on me and I lose all power until I straighten up. We're talking a speed loss from about 210+mph gradually down to 160mph and less which tends to cost me the race if it happens on the final bend. I can't see any obvious indication as to what's going on, and I doubt it's the car either seeing as (both of them) have done less than 300 miles.

It's becoming frustrating so if anyone has any wisdom on the why's and wherefore's that'd be great. I have no idea if this is a bug or just bad luck.

Maybe you hit rev limiter? It happens in that dreadful old slow things called Kubelwagens in Top Gear special event. When you do 51mph, the engine kills off and is turned on when your speed falls to 43mph.

Sounds like you use TCS, ASM or a combination of both. Your car starts to slide a little and/or your propelled tires fractionally lose traction, so the aforementioned electronic helpers reduce power until the car stops sliding/regains traction.

u have traction control on too high, set it to bout 5 and if still happening, decrease it gradually till its right for you, hope this helps :)

if its totally dying you must have TCS at 10!! lol i dont use aids at all. you can corner at any speed you wish without slowing down :)

That's because of the driving aids, i dont have much of a problem as i use traction control at 1 and abs at 1, but if you turn off all aids you will go around turns much faster ;)

As mentioned Turn off all AIDS , the Secret too Ovals is too Put as little Turn into the Wheel as Possible .

More Wheel Turn = scrubbing off Speed in corners

Sounds like the ASM to me. That will kill your speed on Daytona. TCS does nto normally cause any issue. I have tested it at 5 and at 0 lap times were the same. ASM on the other hand cost me abotu 20mph in the corners with the Nascar.
