I am struggling with the 2nd and 3rd sectors of this race, 1 54.609 is the best I have achieved (as a one off) and 1 55.333 with better regularity.

I've tried short shifting, red lining and just can't seem to get the car to play nicely, I've driven it exclusively for the last 3 days and checked my progress using the Coach Dave app and I just can't seem to figure it out.

Do I just need to get good. Could someone have a try and pass on any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated. I've checked YouTube but the only examples are from previous versions and I think the physics has changed.

Not sure if it's relevant but I play in VR using Fanatec wheel and pedals.

I'm afraid I can't be of big help but anyway ...
I did quite a couple of practice laps yesterday night and I'm now able to run 1.55 laps constantly, 1.55.216 as my best. I'm sure with more practice I can get a bit quicker but not that much honestly. And, I can't compare to pre 1.72 as the Power Pack is brand new to me.
All I can say is, I don't think there's much to be found in short shifting, red lining etc., my intuition says speed comes from control, smoothness and ... good braking ! Something I'm bad at, sadly.

Was curious about this one and had a go at qualifying, managed a 1.53.3 after a few laps and a .52 or better is possible, but a few corners were sub-par and there was traffic at the end of the lap. Car is fun to drive, better than most in the Power Pack!

Drop to lower gears to turn the car, use higher gears to power out of turns. Be gentle on the brakes and throttle.

I was revving gears out fully and making a lot of corrections on the wheel to keep the car balanced, especially in 3rd gear which is quick, but 4th is sometimes safer. I also use Fanatec kit (Extreme with basic CSL pedals).

Good luck

Thankyou very much, the 2nd and 3rd sectors will need me to re-learn as I'm too mechanically sympathetic, particulary the change down to 2nd to get the car to rotate.
