There is unfortunately a bug with PP online. It is possible to race with more PP than the restrictions.

If you set up your car to reach the max PP with Harder tires, it is possible to pit and put on softer tires... and exceed the max PP.

I think it would be nice if the tires that would not meet the PP restrictions were greyed out when the pitting pop up comes up.

If any one at Polyphony Digital reads that... Thanks!

that's not good

i am not home to test. if, during the warm-up laps you go into the pits and change from say sports soft to racing soft do the racing softs stay on when the race starts or do you go back to the original sports softs?

if no, then it's not a big issue for short (5 laps or less) races.. but an issue for longer ones.

I haven't tried your scenario. Changing tires while being on a free ride, before the race, would mean the problem is valid for short races as well.

As I read from the changelog (still haven't tried the game), it looks like now tires are NOT calculated in the PP figure.
This is a very bad choice by PD in my opinion. Before, it allowed any car to compete with each other as long as they had the same PP rating. Now, it's going to be much harder.

I don't see how it's going to be much harder. The host is allowed to limit the room on PP AND Tire Compound now. If they limit just PP, its safe to assume everyone will be running Racing Softs.

That's a wrong assumption. I, for example, don't purchase all kind of tires for all my cars (I have 200+ in my garage and the PP system enabled me to use almost them all), and usually limit myself to Racing Hards since Softs are unrealistically grippy and durable. The previous system was more fair, and also made it easier to find suitable PP-limited races.

I see what you're saying. Unless a room is limited to Racing Hards, you are in essence forced to use Racing Softs. For the people who prefer to run racing hards, and use the "extra" PP for HP/Downforce this is a step back.

It really is an unwelcome change for me. Seems like this update is a step back. And that's a big shame for PD since they need a lot of steps forward to finish this game.
