I'm doing a career in F1 2010, and it really bugs me how the computer follow you around during practice, getting in the way all the time. If I'm in front on track, they'll burn up to me and make a pigs ear of trying to overtake, then I'll let them in front to give myself some space but they slow right down (130m/h on a straight) and I catch back up, then they hang around my rear end again trying to push me around. Eventually I'll get a penalty for causing a collision :grumpy: anyone else find this?

It's because a margin of the AI's speed is based on your own, so if your a new player (or just plain slow), the AI won't be nearly as fast as if you were a good player, it's designed to keep races intresting for all levels but at the same time is a right pain in the 🤬.

I've honestly never experienced this. If I passed a car in pratice that felt like it was standing still, he is so far back in my rear view it isn't funny and eventually is turns behind me. The same can be said about qualifying and race mode in my experience.

I'm in a lotus, and I was doing a race sim (high fuel long run) in practice, so I was slow, but if I was 4 seconds behind say Alonso and 4 seconds in front of Hamilton, in about 20 seconds we'll all be on the same bit of track, everyone gravitated towards me. I noticed this in the race a little as well, when I let the leader through once in front he'd slow, and I would be able to unlap myself, but then have to let him through again, to break out of this I had to let him through and get a bit ahead, then he was free of my awesome gravity.

I am on Hockenheim now and I have experienced this in every practice session and now just reset to garage then out again. I dont think this has anything to do with balancing different skill levels. More like an annoying bug.

It's the AI when they're not on a hotlap.(which almost always seems to be the case) So they slow down and let you through. Problem is they slow down way to much and then speed up when they are right behind you. Really annoying.:grumpy:

pretty much

best thing I try and do is just get out there really quick before the track fills up. then usually during the middle of the session, most all the cars will pit for a short period of time (maybe 5-8 minutes). that is your last opportunity to get in some clean laps (especially during Q)
