Great idea. I remember the old F1 Challenge and NASCAR Thunder games having something similar that I thought would be pretty good in a modern game.
NASCAR Thunder 2004 had a unique pre race intro to every event with a commentator talking about each race, such as the Daytona 500.
F1 Challenge 99-02 had a similar thing where a commentator would say what round it was (2001 British Grand Prix for example) and the weather for the race before saying the grid positions for every driver, and saying whether the player qualified better or worse than their teammate, or if their times were pretty close.
It would also be nice to watch the formation lap with the starting positions for all cars and (if in a championship) their championship points as well.
