Hello, I would like to take this time to show case my reasons on why I seem to prefer joining the "others" international online drift rooms over u.s. rooms.
One of my pet peeves are drift rooms with no point system. Lately, most u.s. drift rooms seems to cater to the folks who enjoy bit of competition, as far as point system goes. Hence the reason why I have been playing in other country drift rooms (specifically Japanese rooms). Most Japanese drift rooms I've joined did not turn on the point system, and rather enjoyed drifting without it.
Another reason for joining the Japanese drift room is due to common courtesy( the Japanese usually seem to say they are sorry if they collided, or accidently did something to cause a wreck etc.). I have noticed their rooms have far fewer incidents of obnoxious players who try their best to ruin others play session (bumping, calling names, driving wrong way etc.). Also, so far, the room owners in those rooms were quick to kick those who tried to cause ruckus.
I realize some may say, "create your own cruise room so no point system will be present. You are right, I could make one. But sadly, I play at odd hours and most of my friends are not on at those hours, and my past tries to create rooms did not go as planned since not many joined (Maybe due to no point system? ).
Not every session of joining foreign rooms were positive. Partly because some would rather not have another player from long away hinder their connection (via lagging etc.), or automatically thinks every American players will presumably be an butt-hole and get the boot as soon as you join.
This had been a vague opinion of mine and I fully understand that there are good u.s. rooms and at times with no point system. Just wanted to share my experience about joining other country server rooms. Please share yours if you have anything to say that relates to this thread. Thanks on advance.
