Hi guys. Just a quick question regarding your camera choice. Ive always been one for in car view. I think in order to push forwards with tandems etc i need to get used to outside views. Whats your opinions on this? Are there any successfull tandemers that use inside view? I struggle to know where other cars are etc. Thanks

If I drift I use bonnet view, or exterior view if others are close. I like interior view the most, but like you said, more difficult to use, so I find myself using the other views.

I used to be a very keen drifter on gt5. Ended up moving to the darkside (forza) for a year or so. Horizon is a simulation fail so back on ps3 again. The camera was always an issue. Ill try the hood view as it seems popular. Thanks for replys!

hi Tango,
i use front bumper view, but have my map on "Fixed on car" and scale 2, helps alot in knowing where the other car is.

That sounds interesting. Just waiting for that huge install to finish and ill start having a play. Going to feel wierd after so long. I cant have a view behind car, just cant get to grips watching myself if you know what i mean. Im lucky to apex a corner lol. Cheers

+1 for hood view 👍 I use a DS3 btw.

I enjoy doing solo runs from in the car from time to time, or watching replays from in the car....but after 5-10 minutes I can't help but to get super turned off by PD's 180' wheel animation (or rather, lack of 900' wheel with something that even resembles proper hand over hand animation), and the complete lack of a handbrake animation.

Right now mostly hood view.

Because I am looking over this...

You the hood view it seems more realistic to use it.

But when I am cruising i have all displays turned off and in car camera on zoom.

Starting to get used to drifting in car though. Now that I got the new wheel

I use the close follow behind view. But when I'm just messing around I use the inside car view. And on another note if your with good drifters you shouldn't have to worry about the car behind you just aim for there doors bro.

I use interior view, even on standards ^_^

What if you take the suggested line and the guy you're following happens to take a wide line. Do you come off the clip to follow or stick to the line? I say stick to the line. This is why I run map scale 1 when in tandem.

I've used bumper cam since the early 90's. I know it's not optimal form tandems but I cant re-learn, haha!

When i used a controller i would always use inside view.
I was kind of ashamed that I had to start using hood view after I got a wheel.
But it was just so much better.

On DS3 I could use any view but I used the 3rd person camera the most. For the wheel I use in car view but tonight I'll try using the hood/roof view as when I use 3rd person with the wheel I snap back a lot more

This isn't too good. I'd suggest full course maps to spot spins, parked cars etc... During tandems you need to know where the other car is without a map...

Depends on my mood and how im feeling on that day. I do have a better feel of the car using the hood view, and most times im on a tunning progress, i use this view more. On tandems i prefer to have a 360 view of my car, then i use the chase view.

By the way, the Chase view on GT5 is one of the worst in the videogame history, but its what we have. Totaly stuck on the car movement and purposely hiding the nose of the car... its a pain. Also, they should find a way to provide a camera spin when we move the "looking around" analog, would be nice to see my car in track in every angles every time i wanted.

Forgot to mention this....

But for any wheel users that wonder why the FFB on the wheels feel different in the in car camera than the FFB on hood view or any other view.

That has been in one of the updates.
And it really is different. It is minor bit is different.

My favourite camera is full car view but now I have switched to the wheel I use hood view. I can't drift in full car view at all on the wheel lol.

Depending on how many cars are in the tandem. One you might match his line but if there is more than two in the tandem then you need to run his line but not all the way and don't try to shread angle hence the car behind you.

Just try to stay with the leader. This, for me, always looks best. Even in some competitions drivers are asked to match the leader as good as possible, no matter the line :)

If you don't run his line, you lose him, unless you run a little wide, now your off line.

And also, same situtation, but in a competition?

I used the bumper camera until recently. I always use it during an actual race, but now when I drift I do the outside camera. I guess I got tired of not being able to see people...
