Premium Beetle 1200. What A Great Car.

I really enjoy tuning and driving this car.

I've read a few complaints about its handling after one of the recent updates when its weight was corrected.
I however found it to be lots of fun with sport tyres, a full tune with some heavy suspension tweaks and no aero mods.

Does anyone else here feel the same way?
Is there a regular race series dedicated to this car?

I for one love the Beetle. Only car in the third DLC pack that I've spent that much time with.

You mean in real life? Yeah, there are several spec-type series for the Beetle.

Seriously, it did take some getting used to again after they corrected the weight but once you do (and dial out the severely increased understeer in high speed corners) it's even more fun than it was before.
Less safe and solid, more tricky and twitchy, and far more like I imagined a (heavily tuned) Beetle would drive like.

Oh, and a semi-racing exhaust sounds so much better (and more like a boxer-engine) than a racing exhaust which only produces an annoying scream.

I absolutely love racing the Beetle as well, it's basically all i still drive in GT5. I think i have about 9 of them in my garage. I especially love taking them around dirt tracks. And it's beautiful too!

YES! I love that car. Havent been so excited when I saw that it was being included as DLC (Aventador who?). I cruise mine regularly around the 24h nurburgring.

I havent done too much to the car other than raising the HP to 60 but keeping everything stock. The bug has probably one of the most realistic sound samples of the game alongside with the rest of the old VW's. Cruising around the ring, going through low, mid and high revs is wonderful. A very relaxing thing to do.

This car (the 1200 version specifically. The older one is not really the "peoples car") has such an importance in the automotive history and I'm sure that everyone has had a real life experience with it. That makes it one of the most valuable cars in the game. It makes me sad when someone says that is crap.

I have to admit that I went through all the hassle of updating my game from V1.00, as well as buying the car packs JUST for this car.

I agree. It took me a while before I really gave it a fair shot but it is now one of my faves. I like it with the low rpm turbo with the semi-racing exhaust on the ring at night. Give it some wide gearing to keep it in the low rpm range. It is one of the best GT5 experiences I have had.
