haha.
i was just racing one of the last S championship on nurburgring with the Audi, a nissan 89 was about 7 seconds infront. my audi had the turbo upgraded so when we were at the end of the stretch i had closed the gap to about 5 seconds. i lost control of the car and it started spinning CRAZY i didnt know what i was doing till i hit a BUMP and i saw a blue blur behind me when i was getting back on the track. meh, needless to say i won that race on a single corner.

I think the same thing happened to me, but think it may have been the Toyota 7 out front. I didn't spin my car out, but for some reason the leader went off the track and took like 30 seconds to get going again. Maybe the AI have super soft tyres on, and lose control in the last third of that extremely long lap at the ring.

If you'd ever seen my b-spec driver learning Suzuka you'd know why it took them 30 seconds to get out of the dirt, the AI really sucks at that for some reason.
(forget to hit the brakes coming into a hairpin, spin three times, back up, turn, drive straight across the track into the dirt on the other side, spin once, back up, turn...)

its always backwards for me.

ill be out in front by like 15 seconds and then my tires will go and ill lose in the final set of corners after the straight.

I used my Black R390 GT1 at the Nurburgring in what I think is called the World Circuits Championship in Extreme Hall. The opponents included the Nissan R92CP, Sauber C9,LeMans '89, CLK-GTR, another Nissan R390 GT1, and something else.

I used R1/R2 Tires at 722 HP (dirty oil) and downforce of 45F/60R in order to qualify for 200 A-Spec Points. It is a two lap race, and after the first lap, I was about 30 seconds behind the R92CP. I decided to push on and at least practice with this car on this track, and due to their tires wearing out at or about the Kallenhard Curve, I actually won the race by about 30 seconds.

The replay showed that the tires on the top three cars got so bad that the drivers could hardly keep them on the track. That was also pretty funny.

happened to me a few times at the ring.

ive caught the lead car on the last bend. on those occasions ive been 2-4 secs down on the last straight and got behind the car on the last twisty section.

im not proud to say that ive mostly ended up T-boning the first place on the last bend and nearly putting him on the GP curcuit :) just to win the race

I had this is exact same thing happen to me at the same track/circuit. I was driving my bone stock Vette C5R, at the end of the first lap the R92, Sauber, and CLK were 30 sec ahead of me with the R92 at the front by about 3 seconds. Half way through the second lap I began to close this gap rapidly, I came into one particular corner after blowing by the CLK, to find the Sauber in a rather large grassy area to my left, the R92 in the middle of the road facing me, and the R390 3 seconds ahead of me, I passed the R390 at the end of the straight before the right hand to the finish line. I won by 1.XXX seconds. My front tires were bright orange, which by the way I'm beginning to get rather good at driving on worn tires, as long as they are on the front.

Soon after I got a DFP steering wheel and a Playseat, my wife had a go and she was quite enjoying going around the High Speed Ring in a Peugeot 206 (like her RL car) gradually speeding up and taking more risks on the bends.

After a while I suggested she try a faster car, so she chose a slightly more powerful Clio that a friend at work drives. With this one she was all over the road with me yelling, "Stop steering! Stop steering!" But she just couldn't stop steering, and eventually finished up nose in the barrier. She must have been quite into it because she reached for where a real gearstick would have been to change into reverse :)

After I'd wiped the tears of laughter away, I found her again veering across the race track with a determined look on her face until she lost control on the long bend and clipped the outside barrier. Now I don't know what happened, but the car went into a flat spin, getting faster and faster until it started bouncing from tyre to tyre! Eventually it came to a halt on the other side of the track. The replay is pretty funny :)

I've actually got Reverse assigned to the +Shift (whatever down/back is) on my DFP in order to make it easier to find. You can still drive in Manual Transmission by using the paddles behind the wheel to shift.

Never could understand the need for an 18 point turnabout..... :banghead:
