This year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, which runs from 22 to 24 June, promises to be as spectacular as ever. To tie in with the theme 'Spark of Genius - Pushing Boundaries' a large number of groundbreaking cars will take to the hillclimb course in front of Goodwood House.

Cars already confirmed for the live-action - and full-volume - displays range from the phenomenal 24-litre Napier-Railton and a land speed record-holding 1920 Sunbeam V12 350bhp, to Group C racers from the 1970s from Porsche, Jaguar, Nissan, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz and Toyota, to Pike's Peak hillclimb cars, including the Audi quattro, Peugeot 405 T16 and Toyota Celica.

Cars on the forest rally stage will include a 1973 Datsun 240Z, a three-times WRC champion Fiat 131 Abarth, an ex-works Triumph TR7 V8, Group B cars such as an Opel Manta 400, MG Metro 6R4 and Renault 5 Maxi Turbo, a 1982 Audi quattro A2 as driven by Hannu Mikkola, and Carlos Sainz's Toyota Celica ST185 GT4.

Rarities and oddities include the utterly bizarre 1960 Milliken MX1 Camber Car, an experimental GP concept with angled wheels to prevent spin, and 'Babs', a 1923 V12-engined Brooklands racer which reached 170mph at Pendine Sands. Drag racer Ronnie Picardo's 1968 Corvette wheelie car will be there, along with the SoCal Speed Shop-tuned MG X15 ZT-T which recorded 225.6mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 2005. And of course there will be plenty of Le Mans winners, grand prix cars of all ages, GT racers, Indycars&

As well as a glittering line-up of circuit legends, rally drivers already confirmed include Michele Mouton, Hannu Mikkola and Paddy Hopkirk. Colin McRae will demonstrate his own self-designed R4, now in production as a national-level rally car. There will also be motorcycle racing legends, the Cartier Style et Luxe concours d'elegance - with no fewer than four 80-year-old Bugatti Royales, arguably the most opulent cars ever made - and a new Technology Pavilion to showcase the latest automotive developments.

Gutted that I won't be going this year but Le Mans will be worth it.

I'm sure you'll get plenty of good pictures to show us.

I read last week that the owner of Peter Brock's 1978 Bathurst winning Torana A9X will be there with the car and there will be some sort of Brock tribute.
