Well, here's my problem. I've printed pictures all looking fantastic a few days ago and today I've printed some pictures and it seems like it's printing the pictures only using the colour cartridge and the the end result is pics without the black in which the colour substitutes it with odd collours such as bright green and red. Both of my cartridges are about 70% full and the printer still recognizes the cartridges. I've looked at all the settings and they're all at default with nothing changed. I did a test print from the printer softwhere and it came out perfect, but when I try to print any of my own pictures they turn out all messed up without any black used in them....Anyone know what the problem is and how to solve it?

Your black cartridge is probably clogged or is just randomly DOA (it happens). If you have the spare money, go buy some cheap black ink and install it and see if it works. If not, check back and I may have a possible solution.

I already said I did a test print from the printer software and every colour came out perfect. So how could that be?
Oh wellI'll buy a new black cartridge when I get some money, but damnit I want to print thigns now...

That sounds software related to me. I think it could be that the settings you're using to print now aren't the same as the ones you used before. If the printer is printing fine test pages then that can't be the problem, and i don't think it's the carts.
Check through all of the print settings in whatver you're using to print the photos, and have a play around. Better to try this than going out and spend money first.

Have you updated anything recently?

Try rolling back or reinstalling the printer drivers.

Transfer the images to your PC, the print. Check if your cables are all connected first.;)

Agreed. If you have the option, make sure you have "4 colour" selected in your print driver's definitions for printing images.
