Has anybody noticed the last sentence on the second paragraph in the description of the Prius G Touring Car Selection(J) '03? Here is what it says.

"Depending on battery status, it could run completely on electricity for 0.6 miles at speeds of up to 129.0 MPG."

That sentence does not make sense ("at speeds of up to 129.0 MPG", this part), but it says it in the description section of the car, error?

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the car descriptions were written by drunken monkeys. Most of them are chock full of errors.

Definition: Miles per Gallon or MPG

The distance (in miles) a vehicle can travel on one gallon of fuel. For vehicles that operate on fuels that cannot be measured in gallons (electricity, natural gas, hydrogen), the gasoline gallon equivalent is employed to give a reference point for comparison.

I don't think they expected anybody would actually read the description of a Prius.

The description says "speeds of up to 129.0 mpg." I'm pretty sure miles per gallon is not a good unit of measurement for measuring a vehicle's speed.:lol:

Today I got pulled over for doing 75mpg in a 55mpg zone. I got a ticket then had to stop at a gas station to get some miles, lmao. (sorry, I just took my medication and couldn't resist, lol.)

I obviously know what MPG is and why they put it for a reference point of comparison since regarding the car, it is talking about running on electricity which obviously cannot be measured in gallons. Thanks raver, however the part of the sentence still does not make sense. Since it says "it could run completely on electricity for 0.6 miles at speeds of up to 129.0 MPG", therefore it should be concluded that the '129.0 MPG' was not supposed to be placed in this sentence and in this case, the MPH should be included instead, since it is looking for the speed it can go when the car runs completely on electricity for 0.6 miles, not the MPG equivalent of the car when its running on electricity. That should be in a separate sentence. Therefore, the sentence is an error.

LMAO! Good one bro:tup:

Thanks, lol. Like I said, I couldn't resist. Its my medication, lol. You should try some edibles...you'll see what I mean, lol.

I guess the "speeds" part is a translation error and means "at a rate of".

I think that makes sense than.

I think whoever wrote that sentence mistranslated something. Even with miles per hour, while grammatically would be correct, a Prius running on both engine and the electric motor. won't do 129mph, much less on just the electric motor.

@Raver You are probably right.

@KB18FAN I smoke my medication.:eek:

Yeah that was exactly what I was thinking if they meant to say it like that, "at a rate of" or "run on electricity for 0.6 miles with an MPG of up to", so yeah, it was most likely just a translation error.

I think you guys are taking this far too seriously. Can I offer anyone a brownie, lmao.

Lol, ya it might be too much now, but at least we got to a conclusion which I knew would be obvious lol. Just wanted to hear other people's reactions and know if they had seen it. But just like MorGoth_666 said, most likely very few people would actually read the description of a prius lol. Good conversation though.

Yea, it has been very enlightening to say the least, lol. Gonna go enjoy some more of my medicated brownies! Peace all.

My description says:

"Depending on battery status, it could run completely on electricity for 0.6 miles at speeds of up to 34 mph." :p

WHAT!?!:scared: LOL UNBELIEVABLE!! See, that is was what I was looking for as a correction, either correct the translation error or take out the MPG part and replace it with MPH to make the sentence make sense. That is weird, well I guess it happened to just my game? I need to see what other people's GT5 copy have lol. This thread had started from an interesting conversation has now led to an unusual discovery lol.

My game says what your game says, CarGuru. Maybe only the US version has the error.

Hey, you guys, let it go already, lmao. Just roll with it!!

It says, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain...just drive, drive DRIVE!! lol (brownie anyone, lol)
