I didnt realize this until today, but the cars you win as prize cars have more hp and tuning potential than the same car bought at the car dealership.

For example, I won a Yellow Ruf RGT and did every mod and all NA mods up to 625hp, then I bought a Dark Navy one and did every mod with turbo stage 3 to 645hp, but when I was just looking around, I noticed that if I were to put the full NA upgrade it would only have 615hp.

Also, the Escudo I won in the rally league had 1881hp after stage 4 turbo's. and when i was at a friends house who didnt yet own the Escudo, we bought one so I could show him the wheelie trick. After we bought it, did an oil change and put on a stage 4 turbo it only had 1823hp.

I wonder why this is?

Has anyone else noticed this? Or is it old news?

Civic:

Prize cars and bought cars have the same potential HP number. It's just that prize cars come with the broken-in HP number at zero miles, while bought cars need 200-300 miles to reach that number.

That's what makes prize cars better - a longer time in the HP sweet spot.

I think thats another hark back to the old days of the First GT game as well. The prize cars always had slightly more HP than the same cars in the dealers. Although in GT3 with the oil change thingo as neon stated you can get the cars to the same HP level. Although I dont really like this because I prefer to buy the cars than win them (ala GT2), another downside in my opinion.

Trust me on this one, I am right.

Experiment with it and you will see what I am talking about.

I have a white WRX with every mod and about 350 miles and it has 560hp

I wanted to win the Red WRX from GT All Stars Pro and I souped it up to 583hp and it has like 10 miles and an oil change. and trust me, the horsepower on my white WRX has not gone down, it has only gone up.

Also, I have the Dark Navy RGT which I bought, and the Yellow one which I won, I just checked, if I were to put on the stage 4 turbo and every mod, the Navy (Bought) RGT would have 1074 and the Yellow (prize) RGT would have 1107. My Dark Navy RGT BTW has 277miles and it has been completely broken in.

not true

i dont have a specific example but i can tell you why they say they are more hp

look at the stock version of the car. Read where it says the horsepower to RPM, write those down or remember them, next look at the prize cars horsepower to RPM number, the horsepower will be more, but so will the RPM's. The prize cars HP is sometimes calculated at a different RPM than the stock cars.

im gonna make up and example just to kinda help show you.

Example....

Stock Civic say 200 hp at 4500 rpm,
Prize Civic would be like 215hp at 4700 rpm.

-------------------
all it is is the game not calculating the HP at the same rpm as the stock car, its not that it has more, its just saying that at that rpm, thats how much horsepower it is generating. if the game would lower the reading of the prize cars rpm you would find that they hp would be the same. There are calculations you can do yourself to find that out.

*EDIT* Also, What if the reading was taken at 1500RPM, do you think it would generate 450 at that point? it wouldnt so it would say something like 130 hp or something.

thats why it says @ xxxx rpm.

in comparison, my Lancer VII (prize car) had more hp stock than one i bought. after tuning them both, each with 0 miles, the prize car had less hp. i thought all the prize cars were like that, but i guess i had the inverse idea :D.

that horspower # is the amount being produced at that cerain level of RPM's

When you go into "Spec" it says "Max Power" That means it is producing its "Maximum" power at whatever RPM.

Do you think if you read the spec sheet for an S2000 it would say "98hp@3,300rpm"???

Dont be such an idiot, come on we are all adults here.......or are we?

Couldn't you just acknowledge that you were wrong, and you were being a smart ass to taunt me with your "says who??? you??" line.

It's ok to be wrong, but not when you blow everything out of proportion to cover up the fact that you were the one who initially started all of the conflict.
