Righty.. Time to whip up a few more % in my statistics... So after checking out the competition in FF Pro, I decided to take the 297Bhp Civic Type R I've previously used in the Amateur Type R meeting (w. T6's). Now I'm on T7's which should do 10 laps with 2 pitstops. Hopefully that'll turn out alright...
Deep Forest Raceway
So the competition is a follows
Guess it's back to the lab again searching for more power, better grip, more durability.. At least know I now what the other cars will do pit wise.... So I stick on some T6's hoping they'll last the 5 laps required for one pitstop.. Drop the car, stiffen up the suspension, slighty tweaking the LSD, Lightweigth stage 1-2 and 3 - And head back out to the track..
Same lineup as attempt numero uno...
The changes made to the car obviously helped - but not enough.. The Spoon (There is no Spoon no more) takes off like a a dress on prom night and I'm losing .5-1 second pr. lap but it should be fast enough to beat the Civic since the last laps he does before pitting slows him a little - So I keep on it with the damn VeeDUB out of my rearview mirror I start hoping that this might wrrk.. I pit after 5 laps and comes out 22 seconds behind the Civic at the first coming T-time.. So I force that little Civic to go faster and eventually, at lap 9 I overtake the pitting Spoon and I am no more than 4 seconds behind the VeeDUB. Only problem is that this is the last lap and my fronttires are glowing red. I finish some 6 seconds in front of the Spoon and 6 seconds after the VeeDUB..
"SCREW FAIR PLAY" I think to myself
Never send a boy to do a mans job... Back at the garage I call my tuner and tell him I'm sending over my FTO and I want him to give it the whole enchilada.. Upon getting my FTO back in a glowing red with some flash rims I immediatly head out to DFR... 380Bhp should do the trick - Let's go... Same lineup as the two previous races.. T6's - I'm gunning for 1 pitstop again...
Obviously the FTO isn't fully broken in yet, so while I'm slightly pulling ahead I'm not doing it as fast as I hoped for.. Damn crappy tuner of mine.. He's fired that's for sure.. I pit on lap 5 and re-enters 3rd and start catching the Spoon and the VeeDUB. I do not care much about the Spoon as I know it'll pit on lap 9 as usual. So my focus is concentrated on the VeeDUB, and finally, at the end of lap 8 I can see the him, and this time I'm clearly gaining and not losing ground
In the final turn before the straight on lap 9 I'm right up his 4r53 and I pull by him over the start finish line. So now I have to really put up a fight to keep the FTO just semi-inline. My tires are shot and I'm really struggling through the up and down twisties - We finally leave the forest and it seems like I'm finally home.. Although that damn VeeDUB carries a LOT more speed through that final turn coming onto the straight, so much more speed than me actually that he's gaining ground - and FAST... But not fast enough.. I pass the finish line 1.7 seconds in front of the VeeDUB... So long Suckers....
Race 2 and 3, Rome and Côte OTOH.. Slaughterhouses. I pitted on lap 4 and 8 and never left 1st place... (Same car(s), same lineup)
