Righty.. Time to whip up a few more % in my statistics... So after checking out the competition in FF Pro, I decided to take the 297Bhp Civic Type R I've previously used in the Amateur Type R meeting (w. T6's). Now I'm on T7's which should do 10 laps with 2 pitstops. Hopefully that'll turn out alright...

Deep Forest Raceway

So the competition is a follows
  • VeeDUB Beetle Cup Car
  • Spoon Civic
  • Integra Type R
  • Celica TRD
  • Accord Euro
with me starting at the bottom as usual.. The first two laps I manage to hang with the Spoon Civic. Then my tires starts to wear and on the 4th round I'm 12 seconds behind the "Moronicly fast for 214Bhp" Civic with the VeeDUB right at my 4r53.. This is really really ungrood. I pit and start working my way back up the field and on the 8th lap I can see the VeeDUB again - Only problem - I have to pit. So be it. I re-enter the field at 4th place - quickly moves up to 3rd where I find myself 35 seconds behind the Civic - Who just happens to pit after 9 laps. He re-enters 12.5 seconds in front of me with the VeeDUB 21 seconds in front of the Spoon...
Guess it's back to the lab again searching for more power, better grip, more durability.. At least know I now what the other cars will do pit wise.... So I stick on some T6's hoping they'll last the 5 laps required for one pitstop.. Drop the car, stiffen up the suspension, slighty tweaking the LSD, Lightweigth stage 1-2 and 3 - And head back out to the track..

Same lineup as attempt numero uno...

The changes made to the car obviously helped - but not enough.. The Spoon (There is no Spoon no more) takes off like a a dress on prom night and I'm losing .5-1 second pr. lap but it should be fast enough to beat the Civic since the last laps he does before pitting slows him a little - So I keep on it with the damn VeeDUB out of my rearview mirror I start hoping that this might wrrk.. I pit after 5 laps and comes out 22 seconds behind the Civic at the first coming T-time.. So I force that little Civic to go faster and eventually, at lap 9 I overtake the pitting Spoon and I am no more than 4 seconds behind the VeeDUB. Only problem is that this is the last lap and my fronttires are glowing red. I finish some 6 seconds in front of the Spoon and 6 seconds after the VeeDUB..

"SCREW FAIR PLAY" I think to myself  Never send a boy to do a mans job... Back at the garage I call my tuner and tell him I'm sending over my FTO and I want him to give it the whole enchilada.. Upon getting my FTO back in a glowing red with some flash rims I immediatly head out to DFR... 380Bhp should do the trick - Let's go... Same lineup as the two previous races.. T6's - I'm gunning for 1 pitstop again...

Obviously the FTO isn't fully broken in yet, so while I'm slightly pulling ahead I'm not doing it as fast as I hoped for.. Damn crappy tuner of mine.. He's fired that's for sure.. I pit on lap 5 and re-enters 3rd and start catching the Spoon and the VeeDUB. I do not care much about the Spoon as I know it'll pit on lap 9 as usual. So my focus is concentrated on the VeeDUB, and finally, at the end of lap 8 I can see the him, and this time I'm clearly gaining and not losing ground :trouble: In the final turn before the straight on lap 9 I'm right up his 4r53 and I pull by him over the start finish line. So now I have to really put up a fight to keep the FTO just semi-inline. My tires are shot and I'm really struggling through the up and down twisties - We finally leave the forest and it seems like I'm finally home.. Although that damn VeeDUB carries a LOT more speed through that final turn coming onto the straight, so much more speed than me actually that he's gaining ground - and FAST... But not fast enough.. I pass the finish line 1.7 seconds in front of the VeeDUB... So long Suckers....

Race 2 and 3, Rome and Côte OTOH.. Slaughterhouses. I pitted on lap 4 and 8 and never left 1st place... (Same car(s), same lineup)

Nice writeup, Flerb! I think you were bangin' your head against the wall needlessly, though. I was pulling 1':26.high" laps there in a Honda ITR, pretty full build but only running 247 hp. I used T2s and didn't pit, posting a win margin of almost 20 seconds over the TRD Celica at Deep Forest, and 30+ seconds at Rome and Monaco. Soft tires are fun, but pitstops take a long time...

You're killing me:lol:

Last time I was there I got racked by the Spoon so I did the next couple of laps catching back up saying to myself, "There ithz no thpoon... there ithz no thpoon."

When I caught him... I bent him...

Good Job on this!!!

yup, despite ppl saying they hate the FF cars inthe game, the FF pro is one of the more challenging races :)

I used the Fiat Coupe' cause it worked in GT2... and worked in GT3, lol

I used T1's. (They're superslicks... either that or T8's are)

EDIT: Now that I think of it, I used the Acura CL. MY bad. I just grabbed whatever had the most horsepower, as usual:lol: I used the Coupe' to beat Amaetur FF.

Think the Acura's max output is around 450hp

T2s are "superslicks" ("superhard" in PAL) - the hardest race tyres.

I used a Citroen Xsara that I won from SSR5 Wet. I think I am either a cheater, or just want things to be done easily and quickly.

hmm i used the honda itr also and it was pretty easy, i am thinking about trying it again with the spoon civic. the only thing that really sucks is that you cant win another prize car after you beat it.

damn.pro ff was hard for me, i used my celica ssII, full mods on suspension, and the rest. stg 1 lightweight, and t7 tyres. it was quite a bit before i got in to first, but i just had the prize car on my mind!

I'm flat out stuck on this series. I have gold on the first race but I can't get Rome for anything. The closest I have gotten was -2 secs behind the leader and that was because he pitted on the 9th lap. I use my 483 hp HITR and I'm anywhere from -20 to -30 some odd seconds behind the leader (Usually the Spoon Civic, with the Beatle Cup Car inbetween the two of us). One thing might be that I'm still getting used to my DFP (2 nights old) or it could be my skill alone... the first race didn't seem that hard:confused: . I am also contemplating restarting the game, yet it pisses me off that I can't have a new save file instead of just erasing all...I bet I have have hundreds of hours in this game and would hate to lose it, does anyone know of a way to transfer my money or cars to my new save file? Thanks in advanced.

I honestly think you've got way too much power in that ITR. I did it with the same car, mostly built in terms of suspension, transmission, and lightweight, but only pushing about 250 hp. It was not a difficult victory, with MOVs of 20-30 over the TRD Celica in all 3 races. Here's my setup:

Honda ITR
T2 tires
Lightweight 3
Racing suspension
Sports brakes W/ balancer
Racing transmission

Springs: 9.0/12.0
Height: 95/95
Bound: 5/10
Rebound: 5/10
Camber: 3.5/0.0
Toe: +0.5/-1.0
Stabilizers: 3/6
Brakes: 12/18

Autoset: 23
Final Drive: 4.550

ASM: 0
TCS: 1

Cool, glad it worked for you. Some of the real hot shoes can get the most out of that kind of power in an FWD car, but I can't. I found the ITR is great with 250-300 hp. Glad I could help.

MOV is Margin Of Victory.
