Pro Race Driver 2: NEW SCREENS!

Am I the only one excited about Pro Race Driver 2? Sure the story in the first was lame, and you had to PAY to get simulation physics, but damn, any games with an in car camera view and awesome damage modelling is definitely worth at least checking out. And this sequel looks fantastic. So many different racing series to choose from, even Truck GT competitions. Here check em out.

Coming to xbox live next year. The damage modelling is going to OWN.

Yeah the screens are pretty cool though. I was tempted to pick up the revised version of Toca Racedriver with Live support. But then why bother when this version will be better anyway.

Oh and the formula fords have returned, they were awesome in toca 2.
 
I meant that it should at least show more than Fords...;) I like the GT40, but how about a Viper or another make of race car?

oh they do. just no screens of it yet. Lots and lots of different makes and models of race cars apparently. Pro race driver (i guess you'd call it TOCA driver in europe) had a pretty decent selection, even nascar for people who arent bored easily.
 
Didn't it only have one nascar? I mean in real life aren't there Chevy, Ford and Dodge nascars? In toca, you just got the Chevy one. Those cars were quite fun on that huge circuit which name has slipped my mind at the moment. It was an american race course, not an oval.
 
sears point? yeah i must say it was fun on that track, because that car had horrible brakes so it was a battle to stay in control the whole way through

Yeah I know, I've got V8 Supercar Race Driver (what it's called over here)
 
I think they are going to adopt the title Race Driver, for all versions of the game. I read that in some X-Box mag.
 
I was really anticipating the first Pro Race Driver (huge fan of the TOCA series, which is the ancestor of this lot), and was HUGELY disappointed. I'm going to sit back and wait for this one before getting my hopes up.

They had probs with the last one on ps2, the graphics got jerky when there was too much action so I guess the ps2 can't handle the new game at all..
 
Yeah after the horrible experience I had with the first one, I wasn't even going to bother considering the PS2 version.
 
I dont care if it doesnt come out on PS2 because I still have a computer to play it on:D
 
I hope for your sake they do intend to release the 2nd one on pc, because they were showing alot of doubt about it, stating that at least the online part would be scrapped for pc, saying that the "uneven balance of power between connection speeds and pc graphics of each different computer online makes the experience less fun". I think it just means microsoft is twisting their arm a bit.
 
Yes, I think the PC game would probably be able to perform the best. :) Hopefully.

that all depends on what kind of rig you have. on xbox, at least everyone has the same system hardware, and console gmaes on live are generally very solid performers (pgr2, rtcw, rainbow six 3, etc.). But I guess if you have a crazy machine with tons of memory and a wizard graphics card, and are playing with a bunch of people with the same, then yeah, it would be the best.
 
Does anybody know yet if holden racing team will be on this one? And will it have VY commadores and BA falcons or the VX commadores and the AU falcons?
 
Yep, it is having the BA's and the VY's I just found that out! Now I have to find out if it's going to have HRT in it.

I think its almost imposible ( if not imposible ) for HRT to be in the game because of it's licensing to EA, basicly the same reason Gran Turismo can't have ferraris.
 
I don't know why they're making such a big deal out of the DB9. I mean, its a nice car and all, but its not like its the end all be all...
 
pgr2 is all street cars, so I wouldnt bet on it. but I cant wait for the new cars to trickle out onto xbox live. PGR2 NEEDS a Mclaren F1. Come on, what kind of "ultimate" car class is without the ultimate street car (and no the enzo is definitely not faster or better than it)

Oh, I know. I was just being greedy is all. :D

Yeah, having the McLaren F1 wouldn't be a bad deal at all. And I can't stand the Enzo just for the record. I think that car handles for shiat. I much prefer the Porsche GT1 or the Koenig CC. Still working on getting the Mercedes added to my collection, but I get the feeling I'll never own the TVR Speed 12. :banghead:
