Sometime last year, Ubisoft released Far Cry, Ghost Recon, Prince of Persia, and something else for free, but with ads in the menus. I never got around to installing Far Cry until today, when I ran into a very stupid issue. You have to have an ubi.com account. Turns out that I did, and did a quick password recovery since what I tried didn't work. So after setting up the new password I put in my login details and clicked next, only to see a dialog box saying "Sorry, you must live in the U.S. to play this title." :dunce: I checked the account, confirmed it was set to United States. Tried again. Same thing. Created a new account set to US and with my zip code. Failure. Ubisoft's forums are conveniently closed for the weekend for maintainence.

Did anybody else here get one of these games and have this problem?

Did anyone notice the ads stopped working for it as well? After a few weeks no more ads showed for me at all, bliss. :D

I'm in the UK but set my country to US without needing to set a zip code and all works fine.

You probably got away with that before they added the filtering. ;) The only Google results on this error appear to be people outside of the US.
