Hey guys, me again. Microsoft, Comcast, Linksys, and Motorola have all failed me in setting up my Xbox Live connection. I'm getting one bugger of a problem when I try to connect.

Just for reference, my ISP is Comcast, my Modem is a Motorola SB5100 SURFboad, my router is a Linksys BEFSR41 Wired router, and I've got the Xbox 360 premium.

When I'm setting up, I have the liberty of choosing either directly to my modem or to my router (my TV is literally within spitting distance of my computer). When I go to connect directly to my modem, the IP Address Test fails. When I go to connect to my router, the IP passes, but the DNS Server Test fails.

Does anyone know what's up? Like I said, I called Microsoft, Motorola, Linksys, and Comcast about this, but they all told me to call each other, which just makes one vicious cycle for me. I'm about ready to sell off my 3 Month card that I got for my birthday, but I really want to play Forza 2 online.

Could somebody offer some help if they know what's going on?

ok i had your same problem. The solution is in the PPPoE settings (network settings > additional settings) you have to get the username and password from the account creator (whoever pays for it). i have verizon and i called them but they wont give it out, so you have to get it from the account holder
