I back up my saves before trading and this time I was backing up like usual and while I was copying the data to the usb drive the copying failed and said cannot read usb drive. This is the same usb drive I usually use and have never had a problem like this. I have had the copying fail but work on the second try. Now the usb is not even showing up on the playstation. Anyone know what is going on?

I have reset the ps3, and tried connecting the usb through my keyboard and still nothing.

Try formatting the USB flash drive. See if that helps.
