Problem: Throwing CEL codes

So Upon startup the other day, I recieved a nice welcoming CEL code. I'm thinking it was 9.. If so, 9 is "Cylinder 1 position" does this mean really bad news or as I'm due for an oil change, that would solve the issue as maybe theres some buildup. I don't feel like I've lost power, but I don't know if I want to. Anyhelp is appriciated.
 
Get an obd scanner and run the codes. What year, make and model is your car?
 
Advanced Auto Parts and PepBoys lend their OBD scanners out for free, to pull/clear pending codes.
 
You can usually just ask someone who works there to pull the code for you.

Then look for what the code means on the internet, or tell your mechanic.
