Hello all

I seem to be having a problem with edits and quotes. It seems to quote myself when trying to quote others, or quotes when I am trying to edit?

Any advice, or should I drink more coffee?

Thanks in advance 👍

1. You must have yourself multi-quoted.

2. I'd assume your just pressing the wrong button. :P

You could be correct mate. I have double posted twice this morning trying to edit? Something I don't normally do :guilty::yuck:.

I agree I could be me hitting the wrong Keyes. Just seemed odd.

I hope you haven`t been reported for double posting.

Guess Xamado7V hit the nail on the head.

I don't think anyone is horrible enough to do that. Clearly he is having some problems that he has no control over?

I'm kind of glad this question has popped up. My question is regarding multi-quoting.

I'm not sure how this is done exactly. I've also seen various posts of this forum where many other members have done what I have / am doing.

Once you hit multi-quote, then quote, you are taken to the page to begin your post. The question is, how do you do it to where it posts the name of the person you are quoting, rather than copying and pasting, then putting that text into a quote bubble for the rest of your post, thus not being able to show name insertion of whom you are quoting ?

I go the copy/paste route as that also provides a link back to the quoted post. If you're not concerned with the link part and are using the quote button, after the beginning
is inserted, change it to
TB
, for example.

His post already had the
TB
code in it, so when you copied his post and attempted to add
TB
to the beginning it it screwed up the formatting to only take the closest instance to the closing tags.

Ok, this is what is happening when I attempt this. Obviously, I have missed something here. :dunce:

hit the quote button of this post to see how it works. I personally like to not use that button and simply type the quote stuff like this [quote, then, /] paste text then type [/quote, followed by ]

Sloppy I know :embarrassed:

If you right-click on the "Quote" button you have the option to open the reply in a second window/tab. I often make use of this instead of multi-quoting (or along with it) to open multiple tabs. I then cut & paste from there into the main window where I'm actually composing the reply.
