Problem with GT3 - after completing level it crashes

Just happened recently as soon as I finish a level on arcade there is a replay and then it freezes - all you see is a flashing white square in the top of the screen. It also does this in career mode as well just with no replay.

However when I try a new game - without a memory card it works fine!

To my knowledge you can only have 1 gt3 save file. And i really don't want to start again because I've got to the very last license - monaco. And I've also got some pretty tuned up cars. Any idea what I should do?

Ages ago I did copy my friends game onto my card, that might have something to do with it.

I would start with cleaning the lens and disc. Use CD cleaner for the lens and a dry Qtip for the disc. Is the disc scratched at all?
 
Since the problem occurs with a memory card and doesn't without, I'd suspect it's something on the card.

Did I understand you to say you managed to have two GT3 savegames on the same card somehow? Do you have another memory card you can try it with?

In any case, cleaning things up a bit as Parnelli Bones suggested couldn't hurt but don't be surprised if it doesn't fix the problem.
 
No I've only got one gt save file , I was wondering can you get two save files on one card? I have tried cleaning it but it didn't work. I guess it's going to be starting a new game or getting gt4:ouch:
 
I misread what you wrote about the memory card. Sounds like maybe it's partially corrupted so that you can't save the finish of the Arcade mode or something? I don't know, that's a bizarre one. Have you tried a different card?

Before you do, can you try using another GT3 disc. Memory card deletion should be your last option.
 
Hmm... maybe your PS2 is dying. My old FAT PS2 didn't like to read CD's properly. :scared:
 
I'd simply try another memory card.

Unfortunately it does sound like the savegame on the original card is toast though.
 
Before you give up on your mem card, test it on another machine. Also it may help to clean the contacts on it (carefully) I have had problems with bad connections before. (you always should have a back up card for any game you spend much time on)
