My Fanatec gear worked flawlessly for about one year, and then the load cell failed. Just replaced the load cell (brake) and everything seemed fine at first. However, now the brake force intermittently creeps up and stays at some low input level with no force applied to the brake pedal.

When I engage PS3 mode on the wheel, the wheel will sometimes vibrate continuously with no input on either gas or brake. I have ABS set to 50.

Perhaps the new load cell is bad. Will try installing another one soon and will report back here with the results.

By the way ... Fanatec customer support (e-support@fanatec.com) has been fantastic, typically responding to an inquiry within a day. For example, when my H-shifter shaft broke under normal use, they handled the issue very quickly and shipped a replacement.

Just curious, what's their warranty replacement process? Do you have to ship the broken part back before they'll ship you a new one? Do they even make you send the broken piece back?

Also, if you disable ABS, does it still vibrate?

No, they just send you a new part. You don't need to send a broken part.
Great customer support, always fast.

OP...erm, check if you set everything right, check every connection, every socket etc.

For the H-Shifter, they want the broken one back for analysis and asked me to ship it the least expensive method after I receive the replacement from them.

I am currently using the H-Shifter that came with the GT3 CSP package at the moment, the one that broke is the new CSR H-Shifter.

Update - I put in the second new load cell and the same thing happened again. So it would seem likely that its not the load cell. With both load cells, if I unplug the pedal cable then replug it in, the problem would go away for a while. I had an extra pedal cable so replaced the current cable with that. So far, everything is working normally - but time will tell if that really fixed it.

Based on everything observed so far, the problem appears to be intermittent. But once it occurs, the only way to get rid of it is to cycle power on the GT3 wheel or unplug/replug the pedal cable.

In my case, yes. You initiate the RMA process, then have to produce a video of the issue before it is approved. Then you mail it back at your cost.
