As you can see in the title, my laptop's processor is running hot too fast.

It gets warm very fast but after two hours, it's so warm that it automatically goes in sleep-modus.

I've got a 2.0 Ghz processor in it.

Some info could help very much 👍

Had the same problem on my old laptop. The fan was slightly loose so didn't get up to speed as it should, but it's unlikely that you have the same problem. I would just give it a thorough clean out. Make sure you get rid of all the dust.

Do you know if the laptop is built to automatically underclock itself when it heats up too much or when it's not being stressed with high load? If it is built to do that, is it functioning correctly? What are you doing with the laptop when it gets hot? Is it overheating when performing low stress tasks like browsing the web and checking emails or is it overheating when you play games or edit video?

How long have you had it? If it was for more than three or four months, try to take it apart and clean the heatsink. Or, you could try taking a vacuum to the fans and the intake holes, and vacuum out all the dust that you can.

find patch that make cpu sleep when idle or cpuidle for notebook. I forgot the link, I remember it as inf file from hp.
