Problem with Warhawk

Hi,

My father bought Warhawk on Playstation Store a couple of weeks ago and since I'm not into FPS or shooting games I didn't really try it. Tonight I tried to play it but for some reason it asks the 'owner' to log in to PSN before the game will start up. I have my own account and dad has his but now I have to log on his account so I can try the game.

Is there a way to 'bypass' that security or something? I dont really feel like using my dad's account and switch sessions on PS3 everytime I wanna try the games he bought... :/

I don't have the download version, as I decided to get the disc version instead, but I have at last count downloaded over 40 games off the PSN and each and every one of them plays just fine by any account on my PS3 without me having to sign on or anything... and we have 15 accounts set up on our PS3 for family members and friends.

If this is something unique to Warhawk it's the first I have ever heard of it. It almost sounds like what ever account was used to download it off the PSN store, was then deleted from that PS3.

Sony makes it quite clear that as long as the account that bought and downloaded copy protected content is on that PS3, then all the accounts on that PS3 can play/use it.

BTW: It's not an FPS. The perspective is in third-person.

Ok I'll make that clear.

My father lives off the town because of work and he bought the game where he is. I downloaded the game off Playstation Store from my dad's account since he already paid for it. I wouldn't call it cracking, it's more like he would share the CD with me as I know he can't play when I'm using his account. The thing is, I always have to be on his account to play the game.

I know we can't be on the game at the same time, but right now he can't play ANY game while I'm using his account. Is there a way to have the game to my father's name while play on my account? Does making my account the sub-account of his master account allow me to play his games on my account?

I hope this is clearer lol. :nervous:

By that same logic, he can't play his CD when you are borrowing it either.... yes I understand what you are trying to get at, but I think you understand what I am getting at as well.. which is probably why you avoided any specifics in the first place, but that's cool.

If you are talking about two different PS3 consoles, and your dad understandably doesn't want you using his ID, then you'll need to buy your own copy... and I would get the disc, this way if you want to share it with someone you can... although if you lend it out, naturally you wont be able to use it until you get it back. :indiff:

BTW: Now that you realize there isn't a problem with the game, but rather with you trying to play a copy of a game, you really should change the thread title, as it is a tad misleading.

You may be able to find a used disc version for dirt cheap. I got my copy for about $20 from EB Games. That's the best solution.

Games like Echochrome and WipEout HD don't have this limitation. :)

My dad said he'll let me use the game when he isn't online but I want to use my own account instead of his.

Anyway I found a way to semi-bypass my problem. I created a sub-account to my dad's master account so now I can use all the games he bought on PSN with my sub-account. He still can't play at the same time than me but now I can use my own account instead of his. Well, that's in theory...

The two accounts are linked together but I didnt get a chance to try it yet. We will see tonight. :)

I would not be surpised if digital versions of Blu-Ray games are account locked.

I know PSP stuff is account locked, so it makes it a hassle to use demos from the EU store for me.
