I've been playing GT5 with the driving force wheel for ages now and all of a sudden I turned on to play today and it seems like I have virtually no traction on any of my cars even with racing softs on! Really not sure why. The cars I was playing with yesterday are all different. Any ideas?...

Just trying unconnecting it from your power supply and turn off your PS3... check all the cords are plugged in all the way.. if all that doesnt work try checking the wheel settings

I've tried that but it's still the same. It's the same when I tried it on the control pad too. I'm thinking it must be some setting but I haven't changed anything and it seems to affect all the cars! Thanks for the reply ;)

Haha that's the one! I'll blame my girlfriends little brother as he was messing about with it earlier. Guess I'm just a crap driver! Thank god my real car has EPS or id be screwed ha. Thanks for the help man ;)

turning skid recovery off makes that much difference to you?
I thought skid recovery only starts working when you go past the traction limit?

It makes quite a big difference in the more powerful cars. Try it and see what you think. The BMW GTR on the nurburgring with the wheel was pretty loose with skid recovery off. Having said that I'm not the best at this game' despite the time I've spent on it :)

If I turn skid recovery on I can go 2 to 5 seconds faster depending on car choice. But I kinda hate it because then GT5 turns into Ridge Racer, which isnt the point really for me.

I've never used any assists but ABS 1.

I've heard of people using it to get 10 second faster laps on the ring, kinda sad.
A lot of people use it online, difficult to find the lobbies I want that have it turned off sometimes.

Make sure whether you've plugged all of the connective cables required while you've got no traction from the machines in your trial runs(or before you boot up your PS3), and temporarily unplug some of cables and connect them again after switching off your PS3.

LOL you wouldnt think soo but when you try to race without it on you get 100% percent understeer (cause normally peoples suspension arent setup) and when you try to hit your apex you just spin
