Hey, i bought a Driving Force GT steering wheel today, but i literaly cannot take one corner with it, the car spins when i brake it begins to slide and becomes uncontrollable after that, even when i steer into an corner when i steer a little bit to hard the car is going to brake out and after that there is no controlling.

I mean when the car is going to oversteer then when i adjust and countersteer in the opposite direction it does nothing ill have to rotate the wheel like 1 whole rotation then he begins to countersteer but so uncontrollable that the car spins right away. if practiced like one hour butt i cannot take a corner properly i think this is because of the 900 degrees rotation, i like to set it to 300* butt i dont know how there is no option in the menuin gt5 only FFB 0 to 10 and level amateur professional and simulation, and i can put power steering on and off tried ecerything butt it doesnt work, i can hardly imagine that with practice i can take a corner properly even when i take a corner with 40~50 km/h the car is going to brake out there has to be some sort of setup that i need to configure butt i don't know which one like i said maybe from 900* to 300*(r3+select +right paddle doesnt work)

Can someone help me please i like to play the game butt are struggling for hours now. searching internet solutions having it setup on a pc tried other racing games.

I would highly suggest you going through the license test starting over with B-Licence, and doing it with the Wheel!

You will get new revelations! This aint your typical arcade game. This aint Arcade! :dopey: You cannot expect going through a corner at full speed, turn and expect the car to follow through :scared: :dunce:

And Step 2: you cannot expect the car to stop on a dime just because you hit the brake pedal at 60mph either, go try out with your real car in real life ;)

Welcome to GT5 new steerer and overly optimistic driver ;)

Hey thank you for your quick reply, i will do that and try to take a corner there, still it looks like a configure problem though

Someone know how to turn it to 300*?

You don't. Only 900 degree. Just keep practicing my friend.

Congratulations on your wheel -- you're sure to have a lot of fun.

Drive as if you would in real life. In real life, do you yank the wheel left or right past 90° and mash the throttle or brakes 100% going into and out of turns? No, because you'd probably be dead and unable to post in a forum. Slow down early and accelerate out of corners with composure to contain wheelspin, and the game will suddenly open up and your lap times will dramatically decrease.

👍

What car were your driving? Some cars are a lot harder to handle. Primarily older mid-engine powerful cars. The 512 BB is one of the worst.

Hey thnx guys ,really getting the hang of it by now, its all about finding the right settings with TCS, dont brake to hard and dont steer to much when accelarating. I am getting better and better every lap and are getting used to it.

Smoking the competition right now in my formula one car! :gtpflag:

I was driving a FR Mercedes C63 AMG when i started and TCS was at 5 i literaly couldnt complete a couple of corners without spinning. Biggest problem was with my controller i am pushing the brake button all the way down and braking hard, if you do that with the wheel youre getting nowhere. you have to slightly increase braking force with the pedals.

Hi there!

I am (was) in the same situation as you my friend.. I found it very difficult in the beginning also to adjust to the wheel.. just today i'm starting to get a hang of it, and how i did it was to practise drifting.. yes drifting... I found it very hard to get my head around it but after the 20'th lap i started to slowly understand how to controll the car.. and shortly after was drifting pretty good... and understood how to controll the car with the wheel... ;)

try that, might help you.. I can tell you once you start to master driving with the wheel it feels very rewarding ;)

Or the best...for learning patience when getting used to a wheel. Try the 512BB when you are more comfortable driving some other cars. This car is in the IC-10 license test at Rome and practicing with that car beforehand would be a good idea as that was the hardest license test, imo.

Heck we were all in this situation at one time.

Driving GT with a wheel is a whole different experience than a controller. With a controller, folks get used to huge inputs on the steering, throttle and brakes. There's the option of nearly instant counter-steering so somehow it works out much of the time. Using the wheel is often about much more subtle inputs and not getting yourself into trouble to start with, rather than having creative ways at your disposal to get out of it. Be smooth in what you do with the wheel and the game will follow.

I got one today too! I'm loving it, am finding it very difficult, but enjoy a challenge ^^
I'll give all these suggestions a go tomorrow. I think it totally changes the game, I mean it was good yesterday, but with the wheel, it's totally different, even better, even if I find it much harder to lose.
The worst thing is, one mistake and thats it, game over. Or hope for a lucky bounce off the wall, because to reverse is a nightmare with this! Wheel does what it wants while you reverse, and you have to chase the triangle around =P Funny, but not very useful. Do you have any suggestions to over come this? Apart from the obvious of - Don't crash.

Thanks
